Amazingly peaceful holiday, with my dad having cancer we didn't want to be to far from home, hospital and his care team, but wanted somewhere quiet, clean and happy, to make memories, we certainly feel that… this has definitely done this, if we had done a tick list everything would have been ticked off with a smiley face 😊 We felt as though we were in the middle of know where, but the village and shops were only 5 minutes away, we felt very secure with the electric gated entrance. We were in Brown Owl the cabin was lovely, clean and comfortable just what we needed and everything

Beautiful location and the main lake is a real hard fishery which is a real pleasure these days with commercial bag up waters everywhere. This lake is a taste of times long gone where modern anglers just can't cope and call it a dump unless there alarms arnt screaming every 10 minutes.. I fished for 2 days for the pike and caught 7. Nothing big but enjoyable and also found there is some huge perch I had 4 over 3lb. Actually wish I'd consantrated on the perch..the lake is deep and very snaggy, we was in brown owl but walking round later on towards dark it was clear there was loads more activity

This is our 2nd visit to this peaceful place.. We have stayed in the Brown Owl and Aylesbury Lodges.
The fishing on both occasions have been extremely hard, but great if you like a challenge. This time we were out witted
The venue is wonderful. Cabins are beautiful lovely and clean nothing is to much for the owners.
Craig makes wonderful pizzas.
Pocklington is a 20 minute walk with plenty of pubs and restaurants.
Our dog Alonso loves coming here.
We will definitely be back next year

Lovely well kept place . Fishing for carp can be tricky but experienced carp anglers should land a few fish and the rewards are there if you can tag a lump , they are in there... stick to the margins and snags, keep quiet and the carp come in but don't over feed there are some big bream and roach ... hosts are all great and helpful.... well kept lodges and grounds... well recommended for a weeks quiet angling . We will be back at some point for another go at it ... The Smiths ....

Got here and got the whole complex to ourselves for a midweek stay. The cabin we stayed in was clean and comfortable with great views from the decking. Bumped into both of the owner's and the were really friendly and very helpful making sure that we had all we needed for our stay. Came mainly for the fishing and all though it was difficult I did manage to get a couple and bump a couple off. It is February at the end of the day

Absolutely beautiful place to stay, very peaceful. My husband loved fishing on the lodge and caught a few fish. We stayed in the kingfisher - a new, three bedroomed lodge on the lake. The owners are lovely and always around if you need anything. Would highly recommended staying here, 20 minutes from York centre.
