Since most of the shutters we manufacture or supply are tubular motor driven we have shown below an exploded view of a roller shutter, following on with a component description. The roller holding the curtain in place is supported by two load-bearing cheek plates (also known as end plates). These cheek plates are secured to the building structure using adequate fixings to take the full load of the shutter.
There are several ways to operate security shutters. Smaller shutters may be operated manually, but larger types are typically powered up and down. Below is an overview of the main ways of roller shutter operation for different shutter types. With the cost of motors reducing in recent years, HVP now offers motor-driven domestic shutters at the same price as hand-operated ones.

Thank you to Neil and Paul who came out today even thou we are meant to be in lock down to repair my shutter.
One of our delivery drivers decided that he did not like our roller shutter and drove straight into it damaging the bottom of the shutter. I was unable to lock the warehouse as the shutter would not close but thanks to HVP Shutters the repair was completed quickly and professionally. Thank you
