Gough & Davy was established as a Piano retailer in 1860 and soon became a market leader in providing the latest musical instruments and music at the time. In 2007 The company was relocated in new premises 'Under the City Hall' and is now owned and managed by Hull's own Alan Kilvington who first joined 'Goughs' as a sales assistant in 1995.

Al continued to hone his skills in the musical style of Jerry Lee Lewis and in 2013 was invited to record with Hull's Johnny Pat in Sun Studios in Memphis TN with Kenny Lovelace and Robert Hall of Jerry Lee's band.

We offer a piano hire service for any event. With a team of specialist piano transportation. We guarantee to give you a smooth and easy process so you can concentrate more on enjoying the event. All Instruments hired will be in full playing order and can be tuned on arrival if requested. Lewis teaches all styles of guitar but specialises in gypsy jazz, blues and acoustic fingerstyle.
Delivery charges and timescales vary depending on the type of products ordered, the service you select and the delivery address. Small items will be sent via Royal Mail; larger items will be sent via courier. All delivery costs will be calculated at checkout. Local delivery (Hull and Surrounding Area) of large items such as Pianos, Digital Pianos are arranged and carried out by our personal specialist transport team.
We offer one to one and online music lessons for piano, guitar and also have a list local teachers teaching many different instruments and skills. Online guitar lessons with our guitar specialist Lewis Kilvington. Lewis is a very versatile and passionate teacher who teachers all styles, abilities and ages.

I purchased my daughters first violin from Gough & Davy and the service I received was outstanding. I had many questions before purchase that were answered via email very quickly. A problem with the supplier meant the wrong violin was delivered however Katie had the issue fixed within 24hrs and we couldn't have asked for more. Don't hesitate to order with this lovely company.

Great experience at Gough & Davy. The staff were lovely and very informative. They didn’t put any pressure at all on me to buy anything. I initially went in to look at a certain piano, but glanced over and saw a nicer, more expensive one (although on sale) and decided to go for that one. Looks great as a stand alone piece of practical furniture in the living room. Would definitely recommend this shop for anyone looking to purchase a piano or other musical instrument.

Great help, recommendations and friendly service from Jacob at Gough and Davy. He was a pleasure to deal with. My beautiful looking and sounding Vintage V100 Gold Top guitar arrived earlier than promised, which was a very welcome surprise !
I totally recommend, and won’t hesitate to go back to Gough and Davy and deal with Jacob again next time ‘new guitaritis’ arrives again.

I’ve bought 2 electronic pianos and 1 acoustic piano from Gough and Davy in the past few years. They have a really good range in stock and the staff are extremely helpful. They gave me very good deals to match internet prices and provide excellent after-sales service. Very happy to buy from them and support a great shop in the middle of Hull.

Had a great experience with Gough and Davy when purchasing my first piano. Both Shaun and Al were extremely helpful in assisting me in my choice. The whole transaction was seamless and a few days later the delivery team handled the piano with great care up the stairs to my first floor flat. Will 100% percent use them again in the future.

Excellent service from proper musicians. Having bought a digital piano from Gough and Davy I was very surprised (and delighted) to see the actual instrument I'd bought being used in a barnstorming performance by the person who sold it to me in a video on their Facebook page. They should do more of this, it is a great way to promote musicianship and their products. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to play as well as they can, but it gives me something to aim for.
