Bailiff Bridge Podiatry
Welcome to Bailiff Bridge Podiatry-Chiropody Centre Ltd in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, just a short distance from either Junction 25 or 26 of the M62. A podiatrist is a foot specialist. In the UK podiatry is simply the new name for chiropody. Along with most routine treatments for corns, hard skin and verruca, we can also carry out nail surgery.

Patients with high risk conditions e.g. Diabetes and Peripheral Vascular Disease are also treated. We are also able to provide bio-mechanical assessments. The mechanics of the feet are the key to the mechanics of the body, and an uneven base can produce compensatory muscle imbalance throughout the rest of the body.
Services
Alan has more than 30 years of NHS experience but now works two days at Bailiff Bridge Podiatry Centre Ltd. His particular area of expertise is the care of people with diabetes and vascular foot problems. Alan has recently been nominated for an NHS award for his ongoing research work. After qualifying Joanna worked for the NHS specialising in mental health podiatry care.
We have a wide range of services and treatments, we include further details on the pages of our site about the most common issues but if you have a problem that you're unsure about just give us a call and we can discuss your issue and if needed arrange an initial consultation to help diagnose your problem and let you know how we can help.
For many years, Podiatrists have struggled with the common problem of Onychomycosis (fungal nail infection). Traditional methods of treatment are often ineffective because they can't penetrate the nail plate easily and sometimes present the patient with discomfort.

Clearanail, a new treatment which creates micro pathways in the nail plate and allows deeper access to the areas of infection, could be a painless and safe end to all unsightly nail problems. Our foot clinic can offer this revolutionary treatment as a new service to our patients with fungal nail infections.
In the UK alone, there are currently 3.5 million people with diabetes and a further 7 million of us either at high risk of developing it or even walking around unaware we already have it. The second problem is the majority of people don't understand the link between Diabetes and Podiatry and even those with diabetes often don't really recognise the devastating long term effects of the disease pertaining to their lower limbs.
A Musculoskeletal Assessment involves a complex evaluation of the structure, alignment and function of the feet and legs whilst standing, walking and non-weight bearing. This information forms the basis for a rehabilitation programme, or if the problem is mechanical, an orthotic will be prescribed.
