Parkwood Pottery is a self-funding project and working pottery within Parkwood Centre in Alfreton, Derbyshire. Parkwood Centre is a Derbyshire County Council centre offering a wide variety of meaningful day opportunities for adults who have a learning disability. Since 2007, our ethos has been celebrating and developing the skills of our team of potters, both individually and as a successful small business.
By providing person-centred training in pottery skills and a supportive work experience environment, we offer opportunities for developing creativity, confidence, social skills and team working. We exhibit and sell our studio pottery in outlets and at arts events across the East Midlands and online through independent artisan businesses.
