B. McCaffrey and Sons Ltd is a third generation, family owned business. Established in 1968 by the late Bernard McCaffrey, the history of the company extends back into the 1940's when they were first involved in the sand and gravel business in the Fermanagh/Cavan region. From its first sand washing plant in Drumderg, Teemore, the business took a significant step in 1978, opening a limestone quarry at Knockninny, Derrylin.
Here they expanded into supplying agricultural lime and ready-mix concrete, opening a new factory premises in 2004 to manufacture pre-cast wall panels and cattle slats. In 2010 the company made its biggest development to date, acquiring two new quarries in Ederney, County Fermanagh and Drumquin, County Tyrone.

B McCaffrey's design and manufacture a range of agricultural cattle slats, ideal for use over slurry channels, underground tanks and as part of a suspended floor system. All cattle slat products are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001, ensuring that quality; durability and animal welfare are at the heart of design and manufacture.
Precast animal feed troughs which can be used with a diet feeder system, are manufactured at the Precast plant based in Derrylin. They are particularly useful in reducing feed waste as the food product is held in a confined location. All have fixed lifting points cast into the units. The table below shows the dimensions of the units.
Hot Rolled Asphalt, when laid, is an impermeable and durable surface. It is manufactured using a blend of sand, crushed rock aggregate, limestone filler and bitumen binder. Asphalt is used for a wide range of surfacing applications from road construction, footways, commercial premises, car-parks, driveways and agricultural sites such as silo floors.
B McCaffreys have a history of completing private surfacing works, from surfacing around commercial premises, car-parks, residential works such as housing developments and private driveways. We also have experience of agricultural requirements such as the sealing and surfacing of silo floors. Our Contracts Manager and Sales Team have over 10 years experience in all aspects of surfacing and civil engineering works.
Ready mix concrete and screed products are supplied from two locations, Derrylin and Carn Quarry. All products are specifically designed for a wide range of applications including, house building, industrial, commercial and agricultural applications. All products comply with accredited quality assurance schemes and meet the relevant British and/or European standards.
