One of southern England's few remaining working potteries, Grayshott Pottery is a truly unique day to spend in the countryside where Hampshire borders Surrey, in the company of people for whom traditional craft remains a living passion. See our creations come to life, up close and take away a unique gift to use daily and admire eternally.
The pottery is an active workshop where technology takes a back seat to technique. You can browse our Emporium of beautiful items to celebrate any occasion and relax in the Kiln Cafe where you can sit back and watch our potters create art. We were delighted to welcome Keith Brymer Jones of the Great British Throw Down to the pottery.

Services
Grayshott Pottery, established in 1956, has always been associated with art. We emerged from the old Kingwood Pottery in Brook, with connections to Compton Pottery, which was started by Mary Watts, wife of the great Victorian painter, G. F. Watts. From producing ceramic giftware for London stores and gift shops, we now create exclusive studio art ceramics for galleries and homes around the UK.
Originally situated in Devon, Dartington Pottery started an exciting new chapter in 2005 when it was acquired by Grayshott Pottery to continue the making of their well respected and collectable studio ceramics. Passion and individuality define Dartington Pottery. Each hand painted piece is unique; a combination of original and timeless designs, signed and stamped by the artists with a pride of craftsmanship.
We pride ourselves on being one of the few remaining working potteries in the UK producing English stoneware with our talented team of over 30 skilled potters. Our onsite pottery studio produces approximately 1200 pieces each day using two tonnes of clay, which is sourced from Stoke on Trent.
We not only create exclusive handcrafted pottery pieces, but under our Surrey Ceramics trade name we have supplied many celebrity chefs, including Jamie Oliver. You can often spot our catering ware in restaurant chains across the UK from Wagamama and Nando's, to Brasserie Blanc, Frankie & Benny's, Bella Italia and more recently, Gails Bakery.

Our licensed Kiln Cafe not only serves up a mouthwatering, locally sourced menu on the Pottery's own ceramics, but, as it overlooks the artists' studio, you can also watch us work while you enjoy a tasty treat. There are plenty of seats, even a covered patio area with heaters for the winter months and a retractable roof during the summer to sit outside in the sun.
We're based in the thriving village of Grayshott. Just 15 miles south of Guildford, not far from the A3 tunnel at Hindhead, between Farnham, Haslemere and Petersfield. We were delighted to welcome Keith Brymer Jones of the Great British Throw Down to the pottery. We're proud to have had Dave working for us for the past 40 years and hope that his long service is a testament to working life at the pottery.

Lovely, lovely place.
Can’t believe other reviews say how expensive items are. The skill, time and cost of materials and the process of making these exquisite and quality products means profit is minimal.
Thank you for a lovely afternoon and thanks to all the welcoming staff.
(If planning a visit, I highly recommended making time for something to eat and drink) :)
