Solent Towbars is a family-run business, providing mobile fitting services and advice since 1983. Our founder Keith Hall started the business from home, travelling to people's home or work addresses to install towbars with minimal disruption to customers' everyday routine.

We have used Solent Towbars twice for fitting of a detachable tow bar to two different cars so we can tow a bike trailer. Both times, the team was excellent: prompt, efficient, polite, and extremely professional. Their technical knowledge and workmanship was very good and we have never had any issue with the operation of the tow bars.

Excellent service from Helen and her team to rectify a major issue with my towbar electrics. They went out of their way to make sure all electrics were replaced and functioning correctly. Even though I did not have an appointment they made I could get my vehicle roadworthy.

What a kind and thoughtful business!
Long story, short(ish); My young family and I had to buy a new car after ours decided to die on our way back home from Bournemouth.
Nowhere had the towbar we needed and nowhere had availability to fit one anyway.
I called Solent and left a message. They called back very quickly and listened to our story. They were empathetic, patient and very personable. By some miracle they actually had the towbar we needed and although they were fully booked, they made an exception for us because we were so stressed about getting our family and caravan home.

I needed a tow bar fitted at my home. I wanted it to mount a bike rack on and called a number of different Tow Bar installers that covered the Denmead area.
Solent Towbars were the best option for me.
