Herbal medicine combined with good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle can, in my opinion help to ensure your body has the best chance of responding to the virus in a positive way. These basic supportive actions are often overlooked in much of the coverage we are given concerning the virus. I am now offering appointments in my clinic, with careful attention to social distancing and gaps between patients to ventilate the room and clean all surfaces.

For those who prefer I am also offering online and phone consultations. I am supplying tinctures containing herbs that I have found effective at supporting immune function, redcuing inflammation and that act as strengthening tonics. All remedies can be posted. I am committed to offering herbal support during the pandemic.
Services
Humans have always used plants for medicine and over time have discovered just how supportive and effective plant medicines can be. In recent times, however, we have become less connected to the natural world and have begun relying on manufactured medicines produced by the pharmaceutical industry.
An initial consultation will last for one hour. This allows time for us to come to a good understanding of the causes of the symptoms you are experiencing. I will ask you in detail about your symptoms and their onset, any medication / supplements being taken, diet, fluid intake, medical history from birth and also current general health.
I have taught herbal medicine for many years and at many different levels. I am passionate about helping people develop the knowledge and confidence to use plants as foods and medicines. I often teach at Dilston Physic Garden which is a beautiful and unique herb garden near Hexham.

I run a 10 day in depth herbal medicine course in association with this garden and two other herbalists (Jill Schnabel and Sarah Hughes) and Nicolette Perry, called the foundation in plant medicine. For many years I have been interested in a more intuitive and spirtiual approach to plant medicine and teach a workshop entitiled Plant Spirit Medicine with my wife.
My wife and I offer short healing retreats. We have a beautiful self- contained building ('Birch Bothy'), in our garden and it looks out over a herb garden and open fields. It has a small kitchen area, shower room, wood burning stove and a double bed. We are both interfaith ministers and can offer sessions of spiritual counselling / accompaniment or meditation if this feels helpful.
