Cedar Manor is very much a family affair and guests, returning time and again, tell us that they feel more like old friends than paying clients. The welcome is warm, the service personal and the attention to detail meticulous - because we're passionate about creating an experience which you'll fondly remember for years to come.
The property started life as a Victorian country house but now offers boutique accommodation in ten individually styled rooms and suites. We've lovingly refurbished the interiors, retaining much of the original character whilst adding bold contemporary furnishings, colours and design touches along with all the latest creature comforts - everything is supremely homely yet luxuriously indulgent.

Crinkle Crags Room features a handmade king size four poster finial bed & an ensuite bathroom. Coniston Room has great views of the fells, a separate dressing room, and a modern ensuite. Orrest Head Suite - a beautiful suite, with sitting room, bedroom & ensuite with spa bath and walk-in shower. Windermere Room - larger room with superking four poster bed & window seat facing our majestic cedar tree.
We serve breakfast, afternoon tea and a simple supper selection (residents only at supper). Our produce is carefully selected from the best local suppliers, keeping it seasonal and fresh. Our Afternoon Tea is completely homemade, here at Cedar Manor by our talented chef. With savouries, sandwiches, scones, desserts and cakes, it's a very English tradition and a beloved ritual.
If you're staying with us, our breakfast is a feast, with a fabulous Cumbrian grill, alongside local specialties, like locally smoked haddock with hollandaise and a perfectly poached egg, which are all cooked to order. Fresh fruit juice, cereals, croissants & Danish pastries, fruit compote & prunes that have been infused in brandy & Earl Grey tea, yoghurts, and homemade jams and marmalades or honey with wholemeal or white toast.
We are pleased to advise we will be serving a beautiful, traditional Afternoon Tea in Windermere from 1.30 to 4.00 pm, Thursday to Monday inclusive. Our menu will include savouries and finger sandwiches, our own fruit and plain scones, warmed, with clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam, and a selection of homemade desserts and cakes.

A HUGE shout out for Cedar Manor's (festive season) afternoon tea! With a wonderful attention to detail, the food was very tasty (the little pigs in blankets and mash potato went down a storm!), really beautifully presented and all home made. Plus a fab range of tea blends to choose from. As a really nice touch the hotel was more than happy to make us just plain scones for our group of 8. A well deserved 5 out of 5 for their food, their care, helpfulness and friendliness.

A fabulous place to stay. The room was warm and clean with all the added little extras, chocolates, a decanter coffee pot, spa bath, robes, magazines app, great quality shower lotions and potions. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were all lovely and it was clear attention to detail is a priority.
Location was perfect for us 7minute walk from the train station. Bus stop literally outside to neighbouring villages Ambleside and Bowness.

We spent a wonderful weekend at Cedar Manor, it's a beautiful boutique hotel set in mature well kept grounds. The owners and staff are friendly, informative, the rooms are lovely and clean. There is plenty of choice for breakfast including gluten and dairy free options.
It's in a fantastic location, very close to Orrice Mount which has spectacular views across Windermere and a 30 minute walk to the Lake.
Cannot fault it, thank you for a lovely stay and will definitely come again.

A perfect place to stay for a relaxing break. the owners were really friendly, despite the bad Dad jokes đŸ˜†. room was really comfortable and clean. loved that we ordered breakfast the night before so it was organised in morning when we went to the breakfast room. the gardens were beautiful and I loved the addition of the bee hives. the hotel felt secluded despite being only a few mins walk from centre of windermere. a definite gem.

Superb hotel! We have just stayed there for a week and it was really wonderful! The hosts Caroline & Jonathan are excellent. They are really friendly and helpful and always seem refreshingly upbeat. They made our stay that much more comfortable. They have made tremendous efforts to keep both their guests and staff safe through the ease of covid restrictions. They do really great to explain the the procedures on arrival. There's obviously a much more relaxed approach but for those in the tourism sector they still have lots of rules to adhere to and at Cedar Manor you can feel reassured every step

Had the most fantastic afternoon tea at Cedar Manor with a special group of friends! What a fabulous experience, the staff where amazingly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The afternoon tea was second to none with plenty savoury and sweet varieties. I would highly recommend this experience and can't wait to do it again and again 😁❤️

We have just been for afternoon tea. Beautiful place. Very relaxing. The whole tea experience is amazing. Start by choosing your type of tea. Hot starters followed by lovely sandwiches. Then an assortment of cakes, scones with jam and clotted cream. The owners are friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Cedar Manor.
