Services
Meditation is the art of stilling the mind, focusing inwards and discovering a deeper part of our being. Meditation is something natural and spontaneous - in fact you people have experienced something like meditation, perhaps when seeing a sunset or peaceful scene in nature. All it takes is practice and a little discipline - then you have started your journey to peace, happiness and fulfilment.
The aim of meditation is to uncover the peace, joy and divinity that we all have within us. That is why, at the request of our teacher Sri Chinmoy, we do not charge for these classes - we are only helping you to discover what you already have. Our classes cover a wide range of meditation techniques including mantra, focusing on the breath, creative visualisations as well as practical advice on setting up your own daily meditation routine.
Internationally respected spiritual master Sri Chinmoy was born in 1931 in Bengal, India and spent more than twenty years of his early life in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram (spiritual community). In 1964 he came to New York and dedicated himself to inspiring and serving those seeking a deeper meaning in life.
This is used as our course book as it clearly and simply explains the principals of meditation. It is a very practical book containing many meditation exercises and Sri Chinmoy's answers to questions about meditation practice. The Wings of Joy in an inspirational book containing aphorisms, stories and prose to help guide us on our spiritual journey.

Started taking free meditation classes here and I thought they were brilliant. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the final 2 sessions (for which I am extremely disappointed) but what I learnt and how I felt from going to the classes was easily one of the best things I've done. Can't recommend enough.
