NHS Digital is replacing the General Practice Extraction Service with a new system called the General Practice Data for Planning and Research (GPDPR) service, a broader general-purpose collection which will enable faster access to pseudonymized patient data for planners and researchers.
We are aware privacy campaigners and patient groups are expressing concern around the data extraction and the BMA are lobbying NHS Digital to reconsider their timetable to allow for a clearer public awareness campaign.Perhaps this will lead to some changes to the plans but in the meantime this is gathering significant media interest and patients are increasingly coming to practices with queries or to opt out.

The practice nurses undertake a variety of health promotion activities and assist with the management of several chronic disease areas. They hold regular sessions throughout the week and appointments can be made via reception. We offer an antenatal clinic on a weekly basis, this is held at The Elgin Centre (Carhill) to provide tests, examinations, routine checks and advice for pregnant women.
The urgent care team are a nurse led team, providing urgent care to patients in their own home as well as in nursing and residential care homes. They can respond quickly to calls in order to assess your needs, provide treatment and when necessary arrange services to support you at home in order to reduce unnecessary visits and admissions to hospital.
If you have more than one problem to discuss, please ask reception for longer appointment. 10 minute appointment slot is for discussing one problem only. Please arrive promptly for your appointment and always cancel appointments that are not needed or you cannot keep, as we will be able to offer this appointment to someone else.
