
Richard Mulhearn studied music in his home town of Liverpool in the 1980s and has 30 years' of teaching and performing experience on saxophone, clarinet and flute under his belt. He has taught in a range of schools and has delivered private lessons to hundreds of individuals of all ages and levels.
He continued his practice when he moved to Renfrewshire, Scotland in 2008, where he now lives with his family and plays in three bands in his spare time. Richard was also a woodwind tutor at the Music4People Summer School 2016 in Giggleswick, Yorkshire, UK.

Richard's passion for music - both playing and teaching - is central to his approach, and his enthusiasm is passed on to all his students. He is equally at home teaching on an informal basis or preparing students for exams, from Grade 1 to Diploma level, aural, theory or Grade 6 and above. He welcomes students at all levels and his approach is tailored to meet the needs of the individual, whether beginners or 'returners', adults or children.
