Pure Pilates Studio
We are Devon's leading, independent, specialist Pilates centre, established in 1998. The longest running studio in the area, we are fully equipped with a wide range of authentic Pilates machines to fully optimise your bespoke programme. We offer private consultations (1-1), studio sessions and small group mat work classes, in a warm, welcoming, friendly environment.

We are well known for our rehabilitation work, progressive tuition and attention to detail. We will always encourage you to achieve your highest goals, whether they are to become pain free or to conquer the full advanced repertoire. You will work on the mat and on the latest specialist Pilates machines, to fully optimise your programme.
Services
Pilates is an exercise programme, formerly known as 'contrology' developed by Joseph Pilates over 80 years ago. By concentrating on strengthening your core postural muscles, and with specific exercise taught through correct posture and alignment, you strengthen the weaker muscles releasing the tighter muscles, developing muscle balance.
With a 25 year history of falling off skateboards, bikes and surfboards and over twenty years in a job that's "bad for your back" I felt that my body was beginning to seize up, finding that I was carrying lots of pain and restriction to movement of my neck and shoulders.

I've never had good posture either, Paul and Amanda have given me a good understanding of the impingement associated with my shoulder, along with a bespoke programme of exercises to make me pain free!I am also benefiting from an improved posture. Believe it or not, I'm more flexible and slightly taller than I was 5 years ago!
We offer classes for every level and every need. From one-to-one to group classes, capped at 12 people so everyone can get the individual attention they need. In order to understand you, your problems, any pain or discomfort and to identify your aims or objectives, we undertake a 1 to 1 or initial consultation.
Sitting is probably something we are all going to be doing a lot of whilst we have our movements restricted. The following exercise has been designed for your mother or father, grandmother or grandfather (I'm assuming they are less Facebook savvy) so if you able show them the video that would be fantastic.
All our teachers are fully qualified and certified. They understand that no two bodies are alike and will work with you to ensure you progress at the right pace. Paul is a comprehensively qualified Pilates, teacher, with Body Control Pilates, he has specialist training in, Mat work, the reformer, Level 4 Low Back Pain and Pilates for Pre and Post-Natal, in addition to this Paul holds the Polestar Pilates Studio training qualification.
