Potteries Auctions is an auction house in the heart of the Staffordshire Potteries with two salerooms; our Silverdale Saleroom in Newcastle-Under-Lyme and our Cobridge Saleroom in Cobridge on the edge of the City Centre. Established in 1991 we are now one of the leading Auction Houses dealing in 20th Century British Pottery.

When do entries close for a sale if I want to sell at auction? Entries close when the sale is full. We are always taking entries for the General and Fine Art Auctions and we must allow time for the collection, organisation, ordering and photographing of items and the compilation, completion, printing and distribution of the catalogue.
We have a number of specialist departments including Pottery, 20th Century ceramics, Jewellery, Silverware, Coins, Stamps, Watches, Militaria, Oriental Items, Paintings & Art, Modern & Antique Furniture, Toys, and Collectable items. Regular saleroom auctions are held in our sale room in Silverdale in the heart of the Staffordshire Potteries on a Saturday, once a month.

Used this auction for the first time in September and apart from my sat nav taking me to a camp site it could not have gone better. The staff were all very helpful and efficient, couldn`t have been better ... Without doubt I will be buying again from this auction.... Well done and thank you to the staff who helped me.

Is this place actually an auctioneers or just a scam?
I won a lot of 4 items and after travelling for almost an hour to collect (after paying my invoice and booking a collection slot) I was called 15 mins from arriving and told that the lot I had paid for was in fact only 1 item and not the 4 described and pictured online and on my invoice.
Clearly someone had decided they could get more money for the item and although I won the bid fair and square, they weren't prepared to go through with the sale.
Id avoid and go to a reputable auction like Whittaker & Biggs instead.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS AUCTION HOUSE
We bought over £1000 for 700 pairs of shoes and when we counted them we only had 640 pairs. When we contacted the auction house about this they were rude and hung the phone up on us. They are not organised when you get to the auction. Horrible service and now over £100 out of pocket.

Would never use this auction house again.
All about making as much money from your items as possible.
Charge high commission fees + VAT.
I took around 28 grams of victorian hallmarked 9ct gold all usable in excellent condition & a joblot of different Scottish antique silver brooches, necklaces and rings all real silver and all hallmarked I got £300 🤣😂 never again.

Simply by asking their "Sister Store" called Potteries Antique Centre to give us our money back! We do not have the figurine that was paid for and "Potteries Antique Centre" has steadfastly refused to give us our money back! Taking advantage of a border between countries is no vice! We use this auction once a month as a small business, also using many auctions across the UK I find this honestly the best auction. Made to feel very much at home with all the staff as they could not help me more. Also two of the best auctioneers we deal with in Rob Oulton. And David Palmer , they brighten up the day and make it more interesting Two girls in the office. Well they truly are the best and all the porters

If you know what you are after you can pick up a bargain, friendly staff, who are welcoming, polite and helpful. Definitely would use again. If you are going to bid online I'd recommend paying a visit and checking over the item. Auctions can be a hit or miss, don't expect perfection do your homework, expect you may have to put in a little work. If you can't except this and pick fault after you bought a lot, then you only have yourself to blame.
