Prior to my arrival all I require is, a clear passage from the front door to the chimney and adequate space to work in. Please remove any ornaments or delicate items from around the hearth and mantel piece. I take extra care by using thick uPVC sheets for your floor and also use a number of techniques for preventing dust from escaping.
Creosote build-up in your chimney is a by-product of combustion it is produced when gases from wood fuel burns incompletely and condenses on the side and solidifies. It Is black, extremely hard and usually shiny. It is the cause of most chimney fires, it corrodes liners and can expand to block the flue.
Dave the Chimney Sweep offers quality chimney inspection with the help of advanced equipment. There are various reasons and circumstances in which a CCTV chimney survey is a wise choice to make. You have suffered a chimney fire - you may have flue damage, which can be dangerous to your home. We can tell you how severe the damage is and whether your chimney is safe to use.
I also mentioned to him about a charity property that was being restored and he swept the chimney for free! What a top bloke. Called Dave to sweep our two chimneys he turned up when he said he would he swept the chimneys without any mess. I will be using him again and would highly recommend to anyone else.

Used Dave for the first time before Christmas this year to clean two chimneys - I had researched thoroughly beforehand - and he surpassed all expectations. Not a spec of dirt, efficient, good humoured and prompt. Highly recommended, and will definitely use again in the future.

Dave is very polite and professional keeping in contact with his estimated time of arrival. Once onsite he is very proffesional and clean. I have had him in to clean both before and after a woodburner installation both times requiring different methods and equioment and each time i was impressed by how little disruption or mess was involved. He also advised on stove condition and use. When it comes time to book again next year i wont hesitate to call Dave.

Lovely chap, friendly, efficient, and has done a great job of sweeping the chimney. It is drawing a lot better than it has for the last couple of years - our old chimney sweep was clearly rubbish! Will be using Dave from now on. A* service!
