Items of value can be entered into the auction; the remaining contents can be cleared, leaving the house completely empty and presentable.
Services
Mander Auctioneers was established in the 1970s, previously trading in Clare as Dyson and Son. With twenty years of experience as a valuer in both local and international auction houses, auctioneer James Mander took over the business. In 2013 the auction moved to a larger four acre site at Newton on the outskirts of Sudbury, which has over 7,000 square feet of showrooms over two floors and on site parking.
We offer a comprehensive range of formal valuations for probate, insurance and family division and provide a prompt, efficient service. We are always happy to arrange the collection/delivery of furniture and large consignments where necessary. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
We are always keen to welcome new clients as well as our regular auction addicts, so if you have any questions about how to buy, or about the lots themselves, we are happy to give friendly, honest advice - just ask.

Consignments for sale can be made by prior appointment at our auction rooms - we advise that you email us images prior to making an appointment to consign. Please note we look for a minimum total consignment value of at least 150, and we do not place reserves on lots valued at 50 or less. Every auction is live online and our charges include photography and insurance.

I had a 25 mile journey to an auction review at Manders this morning so was desperate to use the toilet when i arrived. I asked a female employee whether there were toilet facilities and i could not believe her nasty and aggressive response. Not an apologetic 'No' but a downright rude and aggressive 'NO', i asked where the nearest toilets were, again rudely she said 'I don't know'. Given the auction rooms are in the middle of nowhere, with no shops pubs or public conveniences near by, i cannot imagine what it must be like for customers on the day of an auction which could last 5-6 hours!! There

Do not bother to ask for a condition report , although asked through the Sale Room , with plenty of time for a response , and no response , then Phoned them as the Sale is in 48 Hours,
**To be told DO NOT BOTHER TO COME . you can see the Images , make your own mind up !!!! ****
well how very very Rude , Although we have told them we Live 2 Hours there and 2 Hours back and would be Bidding Online , Quite a Large sum we planned to spend .
Well we will not Bid or ask you again for any Information at all.
We will NOT darken your Doors.again
This will be the Vendors that will be missing

I am appalled by Mander Auctioneers' on line bidding system and their customer service. I left a bid of £85 on a lot and received an email confirming this to be the case. Sadly, that was the only communication I received. I watched the auction live and my lot was duly knocked down for £85. I was pleased I'd bought the lot, or so I thought. I heard not a thing from Mander Auctioneers and when I got in touch they informed me the lot had been sold to another bidder. I have bid on the Saleroom many times which informs the bidder if their bid is leading or outbid. I received absolutely nothing from

Sadly, and not for the first time, I've found the staff quite rude. I was late for my time slot (my fault, granted) but treated with contempt by 2 different staff. Unfortunately I hadn't been told that they shut from 1-2pm for lunch (quaint... I didn't think anyone did that anymore!) So if I had been on time, I would have only had 10 mins to view anyway! It's a long drive for me, so a kinder more sympathetic approach would have kept me as a customer. I guess because I'm a private buyer /seller rather than a trader, I'm not valued as a customer. It's a shame, because I had been hoping to bid on

We moved to Finchingfield in 2007 and realised we had an unfurnished house. Discovered Manders (in Clare at the time) by accident. Manders have provided 75% of our furniture. In our experience very honest and easy to deal with. Pot luck with what comes up and when but that is half the fun; used to go to nearly every sale. Have now got a fully furnished house so don't attend much....still good fun looking at the site every month and occasionally attending. Confident leaving commission bids, always seems a fair price. Keep it up!

We used Manders house clearance and auction option for clearing out my mother's flat (above a shop). The van turned up exactly when promised on both days - the men sorted out what could be auctioned and what would be disposed. When finished the flat was left spotless! Several items which sold at auction we would have probably thrown away if we hadn't used their service. All in all an outstanding service and highly recommended.
