Services
Everyone at The Cotswold Centre For Trauma Healing cares deeply about providing a welcoming, friendly environment where clients can feel comfortable, secure and empowered to embark on positive change in their lives. Clinical Director and founder Dr Claudia Herbert has over two decades experience of running a private psychology service and heads a highly experienced team of people who believe in treating each client as a valued individual.
Years of clinical experience have taught us that each person is different and has unique requirements and needs and we tailor our psychological therapy accordingly. Although we are well grounded in clinical theory and can apply diagnostic categories when necessary, we tend to take a more holistic perspective.
Psychological problems arise because somewhere along the path through our lives we did leave ourselves. From that moment onward, we started to listen increasingly to the voices and expectations of others and grew more and more estranged from our own inner voice, wisdom and truth. This is usually not a conscious or deliberate choice but mostly happens in order to survive and adapt to the circumstances facing us at the time.
You may want to contact us because you have been given a diagnosis by your GP or another Health Professional and you are looking for psychological help with a specific problem. Equally, you may not exactly know what it is that you are suffering from, but have a sense that somehow things are not feeling right for you or you can't function properly in your life.
Our child psychologists and therapists are trained in several models of therapy, so that therapeutic work can be tailored to best meet each individual child's needs. This is always placed within the context of understanding and working with the family and school systems around the child. Approaches used in our service for children and young people include the following.
