Went to Vanessa's for breakfast (party of three) after receiving recommendation. My first impression was of how dark the cafe is. With few lights at all. We waited to be seated after being told to move onto the landing area at the top of the stairs as it was 'a hazard to stand in the cafe area'. That made me laugh...because non of the staff were wearing FACEMASKS something that shocked us all considering the current COVID situation. Maybe they should be as worried about the spread of COVID as they are other safety issues. In fact I asked the waitress why non of the staff wore facemasks. She she

Went to vanessa cafe this morning following recommendation. Although the food was delicious it is not somewhere I would return to due to the cafe being so dark with inadequate lighting and being so cold that I had to have my coat wrapped around me to warm myself .
None of the staff had masks on which I believe during this current situation would have been a must as myself and my 2 family members were wearing them. When staff asked about mask stated it was personal preference but this may change in the future!!!!!!!!!!! This has not allayed any fears we had but further gave us another reason we

Came in a couple of days ago, and its been stewing on me.
The food tasted like a bush tucker trial, i witnessed a rat run over my labootons, i saw a rat droppings infront of my spouces valentinos, when my food got delivered, the waitress spilt beans all over my balenciaga hoodie, the food was ransit and the manager should be sacked as her running skills are absolutely shambollick. Wouldn't never recommend to a pig.

Really disappointed. Food was lovely, I actually spent £50 in there today on cheese, tea, sandwiches, pies, oil, crackers and Jams. It’s expensive but it’s lovely. After spending, I had several bags with me and sat on one of the three or four seats outside the business. There was no one else there. I then started eating my sandwich which, again, I bought from Vanessas, and was asked by a member of staff to leave because I’d paid too ‘take away’ not eat ‘in’ even though I was sat outside. I explained to her if just spent £50 pounds inside and had shopping with me so I just wanted

First time I had been to Beverley and spotted this cafe near the market. I had a bacon sandwich and I can honestly say it was the best one I have ever eaten and I've had a few! . The staff were very nice and sitting out in the sun with the Minster bells ringing made it a special time. I will be back. x

One of the best cafes I've been too. All the staff were incredibly friendly especially Sarah, who helped me choose what to eat and gave me amazing recommendations. I had the Steak pie, it was glorious, and also the saltana Scone which was lovely and fresh. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting Beverly!

Ordered their AfterZoom Tea Party for 2 people and had ourselves a little picnic on the Westwood. Unfortunately we had a little wait to collect the order as something had gone wrong but they were very apologetic and sorted the problem quickly. A tiny bit frustrated to find there were open sandwiches (one of my pet hates) however they were yummy and cannot be faulted on taste, merely my personal preference.
The whole thing was excellent especially the chocolate brownie slices. I strongly recommend you try it, you will not be disappointed!

Well what a disappointment .
First the waitress could not smile and was s little unpleasant .
After we ordered we spotted the daily specials , it would have been nice to be notified they had special dishes of the day .
The meat pie was overcooked and the chips undercooked .
The pork pie was just ok .
The only saving grace was the young manager was very understanding and removed on meal from the bill .
