We design uniforms for client schools from a suite of fabrics, colours and styles in whatever combination they require. Ethical manufacturing mainly in Europe ensures the highest quality garments, peace-of-mind and fast stock replenishment. British and European cloths and trims ensure our garments are comfortable and look smarter for longer.
In 1870 C.G. Southcott started making military uniforms in Bridlington, East Yorkshire; today his Great grandsons run School Colours. The principles of using the latest machinery and technologies have not changed over the generations, ensuring our garments are of the highest quality available. For four generations we have been supplying high quality school uniforms to schools throughout the UK and in other countries.

Services
Free sizing sets given to each school for fitting purposes. We find real garment sizing sets are more reliable to estimate the size needed than parents measuring their child - less returns. Our garment manufacturing accuracy is best in class to ensure the uniform is consistent year-on-year - confidence in ordering.
We expect our suppliers to comply with the following policy and these points are presented to them. Child Labour is not used (Child means below the age of 14 years old, unless local minimum age law stipulates a higher age for work or mandatory schooling, in which case the higher age shall apply). When we source from factories outside the EEC we expect audits to be undertaken to ensure compliance with the above standards.
In 2008 we launched the UK's first tailor-made school uniform using genuine 100% recycled polyester fabric/lining and sustainable trims. Each blazer uses 30 plastic bottles that would normally end up in landfill. Our ecofabric is genuinely recycled 100% from plastic bottles. Our Ethical Trading Policy means that children don't sew our garments together, they wear them.
SMARTECH is a specially designed, high quality and cost effective range of School Sportswear for children of all ages. With an emphasis on performance and comfort the SMARTECH range combines durability with style. Our fabrics have been scientifically developed and tested to ensure that children wearing our SMARTECH range for any sporting activity will not only look smart but be motivated to do their best and feel great.
Whether it's a polyester twill blazer made for a prominent Academy or a wool tweed blazer made for a leading Independent School the same high quality fabrics, trims and garment factories are used. Our uniforms are mostly manufactured in Europe with intrinsic ethical labour laws - Children wear our garments, they don't make them.
