The Natural Health Centre was established in 1990 and has been providing natural (holistic) therapies and integrated health care to the people of Shropshire and Mid-Wales ever since. In 1990 we helped approximately 200 people every month. Now we see about 1000 adults, children and babies every month, with increasing numbers being referred to us by NHS consultants, NHS doctors, practice nurses, health visitors, midwives, and speech therapists.

A little cafe / bookshop opened in Abbey Foregate, with a focus on helping & healing people. It was the brainchild of Eddie King, a Methodist minister with an interest in Healing. He wanted to develop it into a place that offered therapies, and so it became known as the Shrewsbury Natural Health Centre.

ACT has been shown to be an effective treatment for a broad range of psychological problems, such as stress and worry, depression, anxiety problems, post-traumatic stress, eating problems, chronic pain, addictions and living with long term health conditions. Many people struggle with painful thoughts, memories, feelings and sensations, and often believe that nothing can improve until they can make them go away.
The Alexander Technique is a way to feel better, and move in a more relaxed and comfortable way. the way nature intended. An Alexander Technique teacher helps you to identify and lose the harmful habits you have built up over a lifetime of stress and learn to move more freely. During several lessons, you're taught to be more aware of your body, how to improve poor posture and move more efficiently.
CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle. CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.
Podiatrists are health care professionals who have been trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. They also prevent and correct deformity, keep people mobile and active, relive pain and treat infections. They can give you and your family advice on how to look after your feet and what type of shoes to wear.
Clinical Psychologists aim to understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. In order to offer a fuller understanding, we train in a range of therapeutic models, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Psychotherapy and Psychodynamic approaches.
