We stayed at the Inn, and had dinner and breakfast there. The menu options for both were extensive, and the food quality outstanding. My fillet cooked in bourbon, honey, and molasses was superb, as were the chips and veg. The portion size was generous too. Breakfast was equally excellent. Plus Carol couldn't do enough for us, and was wonderfully welcome and friendly.
The room was charming, well appointed and very clean.
We would highly recommend eating and/or staying here.

I had a room on the top floor, which was excellent. Having read the previous reviews I decided to eat in the restaurant. What a great decision this was, I had the pie of the day and it came together with plenty of vegetables, chips and gravy. I have to say it was brilliant, so tasty. Also I had breakfast in the morning, which was great. They are very pet friendly, although I did have to pay a supplement for my dog, but that is fair enough. All in all superb

The venue is lovely. The staff polite and attentive. The meals we had were lovely. The pies, chicken and beef were spot on. The mash and the veggies great. The gravy. Ooh the gravy. Fabulous. This venue is spot on. Give this a try. Lovely just lovely! Support local businesses in Newark folks. Thanks again to the staff.

This hotel was absolutely incredible. I booked a standard room but upon arrival I was given an upgrade to a larger room which was extremely comfortable. The hotel is extremely central and close to all local amenities. The staff are also friendly and can't do enough to help. I couldn't have asked for a better stay, very impressed with this hotel and would definitely stay again.

Fabulous, friendly Inn, excellent food (large portions) and a gorgeous room right at the top of the building. My dog and I were made to feel very welcome and there was even a jug of real milk in the little fridge with a selection of teas, coffee and biscuits. Obviously, as it's an old building, the top stairs are quite narrow and the dog wasn't too keen, but they are carpeted so he managed a good grip and got used to them.

This privately run Inn was a great little place to stay being well located for most things in Newark. Room was clean, had everything you needed and was competitively priced against other B&Bs/hotels in the town. Food was excellent having eaten there in the evening as well as sampling breakfast next day. It was good home cooking together with plenty of choice. Little things that stood out was the fresh milk in the fridge for tea/coffee, being escorted to your room on arrival (pointing out the things you needed to know) and the fact that the owner and staff spoke to you and made you welcome throughout

Comfortable, clean rooms, and friendly staff. My room was at the top of the building and the stairs were quite steep, typical for the age of the building. Plenty of breakfast options, and a varied menu for evening meals. I had a lamb pie which was delicious. Breakfast and evening meals very filling! Only 5 mins walk to the town. Very nice place to stay.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It was really friendly and the rooms had everything you required for your stay. Had a good feel better than some big chain hotels.
We did not have breakfast (which we love having) when we are away. You have to pre-order the evening before. I understand why but did not know what we would fancy in the morning. We did not ask if we could just order our breakfast in the morning so this could be our error for not conmunicating. We did have a meal on the Saturday but we felt it was expensive for a pie meal. The veg was lovely and fresh.
The service was really great

Lovely place to stay. Booking in was easy, lots of car parking space at the rear (gates next to the hotel I missed the first time as drove straight passed). Room was great, everything you needed - the complimentary cookies were delicious! Excellent breakfast. Didn't stay for dinner as all was planned elsewhere but will certainly do so next time I visit.
