Podiatric Acupuncture is the use of acupuncture as a therapeutic tool, by podiatrists, to treat problems of the lower limbs. Fine acupuncture needles are placed into specific areas known as acupoints or into trigger points. The needles are believed to have an effect on the nervous system and stimulate the release of natural painkillers (endorphins) which help relieves the discomfort associated with painful conditions.
Foot mobilisation therapy is a form of manual therapy incorporating chiropractic, osteopathic and physiotherapy techniques which involves the application of low grade force to a joint of the foot or ankle to increase the range of motion. It works by reducing the stiffness of the joint which is caused by an increase in the collagen cross fibril linkages.
Shockwave Therapy @ The Shand Practice Aberdeen for plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendinopathy. ECSWT is a procedure where shockwaves are passed through the skin to the injured part of the foot using a special device. Extracorporeal means outside of the body.
The shockwaves are mechanical and not electrical; they are audible, low energy sound waves which work by increasing blood flow to the injured area and altering the nerves which supply the painful site. This accelerates the body's healing process and results in a reduction/elimination of pain. You will usually require a course of 3-5 treatments, one week apart.

I had several big embarrassing verrucas on both feet, my left knee and 2 of my fingers. After 3 Swift sessions with Emma they have completely disappeared! She was so fantastic and made me feel so comfortable despite how embarrassing they were. The treatment was completely worth the time and I couldn’t recommend Emma more, she’s the best!!

Three years of crippling foot pain alleviated in just three sessions. I wouldn't have believed it possible and am so annoyed with myself for not going sooner. I think the fear of exorbitant private prices put me off but my treatment was very reasonably priced and worth every penny. Emma who treated me was first class and never put a foot wrong 😉😂 I can unreservedly recommend this clinic, it's first class 👌

Cannot recommend Scott and the team enough. He went out of his way to fix my orthotics for me whilst on lockdown. Really appreciate the service I received - especially during these uncertain times. I’m looking forward to Emma sorting out my feet too. She always does a smashing job! Thanks a million guys and stay safe Marie x

I booked an appointment with the podiatrist as I picked up a bad ankle injury playing football and was unable to walk. This turned out to be a torn tendon of my ankle.
Scott was very clear and concise as he explained my treatment over several sessions of mobilization , massage, acupuncture and functional exercises and I began to see improvement as each week went by. I'm very happy to say after 3 months of treatment I am now able to walk and participate in sport again.
