North Kilworth Wharf has been around for 200 years as a well established working boat yard that offers a wide range of boat services. These include narrow boat welding, fitting, day boat hire, engineering, painting, blacking and anti fowling on GRP boats, mooring and more. The boat yard is based on the 20 mile lock-free summit of the Leicester section, Grand Union Canal.
North Kilworth Wharf is more than a boat yard. As well as providing boat services such as calor gas, red diesel, coal & smokeless fuels, waste pump out and Elsan disposal, we have a neighbouring shop that sells basic groceries, alcohol and chandlery. As a business, our aim is to remain highly competitive in the boating industry, through high standard services at fair prices.

Services
North Kilworth Wharf is a small family run wharf, Harry (dad) and Rachael (daughter) took over the running of the business in 2011 when Harry, fed up with retirement, decided to buy the business. He had worked at the wharf in the 70s when it was Hucker Marine and lived on a narrow boat for a few years.
Here at North Kilworth Wharf you can choose from a wide range of marine services, by reliable professionals with years of experience. Boat was inadequate for staying on for several days. Nowhere to put anything. First night not enough charge for heating or microwave to work. Nowhere to sit only on bed. TV didnt work properly. On returning boat made it worse telling us that from next day the boat was being refurbished so anyone that had booked it was being upgraded to a better boat!!

Just spent Monday to Friday on little otter was absolutely amazing. Can't recommend enough from the moment we arrived till we dropped it back off it was brilliant. If you are on the larger side go for sophies serenity or precious gem as although fully equipped the bathroom is not the largest. Kitchen has everything you need and is… supplied with washing up liquid and kitchen roll, tea, coffee, sugar and a lovely coffee maker with lots of pods Bed is a fold out couch but is very comfy as comes with a mattress topper can leave the bed made up and still have space to use the table. Go prepared

Just got back from a 10 night trip on Precious Gem. Lovely boat for two, spotlessly clean and some great little touches - as someone who likes to cook, it was fantastic to have a boat with a decent kitchen knife! Take some Tassimo pods with you for a nice morning coffee on the towpath. Thanks to John and his team, a great friendly bunch - we had a fantastic time on a lovely stretch of canal

Absolutely fantastic day out on ‘lazy days’ a 27ft boat. Lovely boat and easier to handle that I thought. It was the first time we have ever even stepped foot on a canal boat let alone taken one out, so this… little boat was spot on. The guys at the wharf were really friendly, encouraging and helpful. Very easy to talk to and ask any questions, also very easy booking and fast to reply to emails when we were first enquiring- by far the most helpful and prompt at replying when we were looking at availability and prices. Price was very good (£140 for the Monday) and well worth
