Mid Annandale Playcare cater for children aged 3 months to 16 years across four provisions. We provide funded Early Learning and Childcare for eligible 2 year olds and 3 and 4 year olds. Mid Annandale Playcare has their own, 'state of the art' children's and family facility, which conforms to all current standards and regulations and provides the surroundings to increase and stimulate development.
Each provision has their own dedicated areas designed specifically for their particular needs. We embrace a play based approach in a high quality learning environment, promoting a nurturing ethos which supports children's wellbeing, learning and development. Services
M.A.P is a voluntary organisation managed by a maximum of 12 Directors. All families / carers registered with Mid Annandale Playcare are members, directors can be appointed from this membership by election or co-opted from the community in order to widen skills base and interest. The facility has the provisions to accept children with additional support needs, provided adequate staffing support and funding can be received.
In order to achieve high standards, not only do we provide well-resourced and exciting facilities but we recruit and retain highly trained and motivated staff. Our staff team have a thorough understanding of how experiences impact children and young people's development and the importance of relationships in shaping later outcomes.
MAP started life operating out of Lockerbie's Local Community Centre, but unfortunately had to relocate after the Lockerbie Air Disaster 1988. The playgroup was temporarily moved into a portacabin (double temporary classroom unit). Unfortunately, we were never able to move back into the Community Centre.
Mid Annandale Playcare are registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide a care service to a maximum of 86 children from the age of 3 months to 16 years. Children are cared for across the four provisions mentioned below. Each playroom is set up with careful consideration of the children's age and stage to enable us to support learning and development appropriately.
Mid Annandale Playcare offer a home from home environment in a purpose built facility and take great pride in helping you give your child the best possible start in life. Babycare welcomes babies from 3 months to 2 years and caters for a maximum of 9 babies at any one time, within the atmosphere of an integrated nursery.
