A FAMILY RUN BUSINESS - Established back in 1974, my Grandfather was an estate agent who took a batch of theatre costumes in lieu of rent from a hard up actor. These costumes were laundered and put on a rail in the corner of his office, an advert was placed in the Evening Press and after an incredible 400 reply's FANTASY WORLD was born.
I took the business over from my grandparents as soon as I left School, FANTASY WORLD is not just "work" to us, its a way of life - a fun place to be and its great to see people getting into a party mood. I do get requests daily from charities, as fundraising events often involve fancy dress.

Services
We ship out goods as swiftly as possible, usually within 48 hours - several items are sent direct from our York store, however due to the number of lines and range of sizes some orders have to be dispatched from a warehouse - and some costume lines are made to order in Belgium and do take 7 days to be delivered.
Costumes can be hired on line but if you are near the store we urge you to pay us a visit - as you'll see the full range and have the opportunity to try on etc. A Security Deposit is required when hiring a costume - this is to ensure we get the outfit back on time and in good order and to cover our loss in the event of loss or damage.
We want you to be completely satisfied. If you're unhappy with your purchase however, you may return unwanted items within 14 working days [*] for a full refund. YES, in the interests of hygiene; Wigs, Bodysuits, Underwear, Stockings / Tights, Teeth, Contact Lenses, Eyelashes and False Nails cannot be returned for refund, unless faulty.

Terrible and extremely unhelpful. My club ordered jackets from them and we waited forever for them to show up causing us to have to change costume last minute. That seems like it could be forgivable considering postal service. However this year we needed another jacket for a team member and when I contacted Justin (who by the way wrote his own review on here..) he didn't reply for a week and when he did he sent me a paypal without considering shipping. When I mentioned that it had to be sent overseas he replied that he would update the information. Weeks later I emailed again asking him if he shipped
