Services
The Clifford family have been stones masons in the Stratford area since 1770; founded by George Clifford over 130 years ago, and operating from the present premises at Sanctus Street since 1891. All memorials are produced by our own skilled craftsmen, from the quarried material to the finished, erected stone.
We service a large number of Churchyards in Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. Different Dioceses have a variety of strict rules and regulations, we work closely with all of them to ensure we only supply and erect approved memorials. Most Churchyards will only allow Natural Stone. Below are materials of Natural Stones and designs aimed to show what is most often approved at Churchyards.
A question we all find difficult to discuss is whether space for the future needs to be left on the memorial this defines the amount of space/lines available. Depending on placement and layout of carvings and designs the available space on the memorial may vary. Whether its a simple cross or porcelain photo, its important they are factored into the design.
Overtime memorials can become weathered, we are able to restore memorials back to great quality. Whether the memorial is gilt, leaded or enameled, the inscription can fade over time depending on its exposure to the elements or under trees. We offer full annual cleaning services and can send photos to show the upkeep of the memorial if needed.
We are able to supply, cut and carve multiple stones in any design as well as fix in place whether it be a house number or a name. We can supply matching vases alongside the memorials and even carve initials or short inscription for Churchyards, Cemeteries or something personal at home. Matching the memorial stone, these sit around the perimeter of the grave, creating an enclosure for soil, plants or chippings.

Absolutely disgusting service. When my dad passed away last month, the existing headstone was taken from the burial site by Cliffords. I had absolutely no say in this; apparently there is an agreement in Stratford that Clifford and Sons are automatically used. For the second inscription on the headstone I was quoted £1500 approx. for 60 characters, cleaning, regilding and health and safety compliance. I was shocked by the price but met with an attitude of "well that's the way it is". Even if this is the case, my family and I are grieving but there has been absolutely no compassion from them. When
