Proto Labs
The global ambition to align with the Paris Agreement is putting immense pressure on the oil and gas sector. The energy transition to renewable energy requires another transition: to a new breed of oilfield services companies. Kick start your next project by uploading a 3D CAD file. Within hours, we'll send you free design analysis and accurate pricing.

From there, you can work with our team of applications engineers to bring your product to market. Within a few hours we'll send you design for manufacturability (DFM) analysis and real-time pricing. Along with accurate pricing, our interactive quote will call out any difficult to manufacture features based on the manufacturing process you have selected.
Services
Our company was founded in 1999 by Larry Lukis, a successful entrepreneur and computer geek who wanted to radically reduce the time it took to get injection-moulded plastic prototype parts. His solution was to automate the traditional manufacturing process by developing complex software that communicated with a network of mills and presses.
Get prototypes and low-volume production parts in as fast as 1 day with our industrial 3D printing, CNC machining and injection moulding services. A 3D object is built from a CAD model, usually constructing the part by depositing layer upon layer of material. Protolabs offers five 3D printing services.
Our affordable aluminium moulds and quick turnaround times (in as fast as 1 day) help you reduce design risks and limit overall production costs along every step of the product cycle. Plastic injection moulding is a manufacturing process where resin in a barrel is heated to a molten state, then shot into a mould to form a final production-grade thermoplastic part.
Our plastic injection moulding process produces custom - rapid prototypes and end-use production parts in 15 days or less. We use aluminium moulds that offer cost-efficient tooling and accelerated manufacturing cycles, and stock more than 100 different thermoplastic resins. Plastic Injection Moulding Design Guidelines will help you understand capabilities and limitations.
Liquid silicone rubber moulding is a thermoset process that mixes a two-component compound together, which is then heat cured in the mould with a platinum catalyst to produce a final LSR part.

Liquid Silicone Rubber has excellent thermal, electrical, and chemical resistance properties, although it can be attacked by certain solvents such as gasoline or mineral spirits, which is why it can be used in high-temperature automotive applications but not for fuel lines. And it has low compression set-low permanent deformation when a force is applied and removed-making it ideal for elastomers.

Has been ruined. I worked at protolabs for ten years the first 7 were brilliant, the last 3 shocking, they don't value people and have a shop floor manager who is a dinosaur that lies and has no management skills.

I have been to this site twice as a contractor. My only impression is the receptionist who I have dealt with on both occasions. One of the most helpful receptionist I have met in 30+ years.
Credit where credit us due.

Service may seem impersonal initially as most of it is automated, hence the very competive quoting system. Once assigned a project manager they will ensure any queries you have are answered and try and accommodate best they can with any deadlines you may have.
Quotes are very reasonable and completely transparent.
Great for all your engineering needs from 3D printing to injection moulding, with substantial experience in production and having dealt with some of the market leaders I would recommend Protolabs before most of, if not all of their main competitors. Great work guys.

This is a great place to work, I have been here for nearly two years now and have worked in two separate departments. The management team in both departments are good people and are willing to listen to you and help. Would happily recommend to people to apply.
