Tyrrells Home Furnishings started business in 1902 in Motherwell. In 1934 Jimmy Tyrrell Snr opened a business in Burnbank, Hamilton not far from the present showroom. Jimmy Tyrrell Jnr joined the business in 1957 and together they built a tremendous clientele, across Lanarkshire and central Scotland, based on recommendations and repeat business.
In later years Jimmy's sons James and John joined the business. In 2018 James' son, Chris joined the family business and now we have a tremendous team taking the business from strength to strength. This shop had just what was wanted, at very fair prices and with free delivery. Behind the shop was a large carpark virtually empty on a Friday afternoon. There are parking places in front of the shop if you are lucky. Service was friendly and helpful, and this business is recommended for its quality goods.

Fantastic service from a real family business. My family have used Tyrrells for generations and myself for over 15 years. I bought a mattress from this shop. The mattress delivered was the one on display. It also gave me allergic reaction. On contacting the shop, I was just told they will not do any exchange or refunds once sold as this is not a "shop" problem. I was also rudely informed that the allergy reaction could be due to climate change and nothing to do with mattress. I repent to buy this mattress from here. It is well know that branded stores like Dreams have 30 days Guarantee. I have had a horrible experience with the shop staff and will not recommend this shop to anyone.
