Lionsgate Riding Centre
Lionsgate is a family run riding school situated in the Ayrshire countryside, 4 miles from Ayr town centre. It is a fully licensed riding school and is inspected on a regular basis by South Ayrshire Council. Lionsgate is open all year round, with an outdoor school and clean, tidy stables and yard. The services we provide include: riding lessons, pony days and livery.

This is very popular amongst young riders. A chance to be at the stables with the ponies all day, to groom, tack up and help to look after ponies and 2 lessons or hack & lesson per day, stable management, as well as having fun and making new friends. We collect personal information via a Rider Registration form that is required by our insurance.
Services
Lionsgate is 10 minutes from Ayr centre and is easily reached by car or bus. The yard is clean, tidy and well-maintained with 24 hour, 7 day supervision, security lights and dog-warning alert. We have an outdoor arena with a full set of show jumps available in the summer. Lessons are available, with qualified, experienced staff on hand to help the new or experienced horse owner, if required.

My daughter has started riding at this establishment. The riding school is really accomplished. I enjoy watching my daughter learning new aspects and skills. She has significantly improved. The staff, especially the head trainer/stable manager has a fantastic approach. Pushing the boundaries and encouraging the horse riders in the correct manner. I am very very impressed.
I can't wait to see her progression.

Discrimination against a 6yr old with type 1 diabetes. Correspondence with parents was obnoxious and condescending. Disgusting behaviour from both Wilsons.

I am happy I found lionsgate stables. My kids have so much fun with the pony days. My daughter has learnt to trot and now she is learning to canter. During the week she is so excited for it to be the weekend. My son comes back with a big smile and he is gaining more confidence.

Great place been going to lessons for a year. Reccomended. I am allowed to arrive early groom tack up have lesson de tack. So much better than just turning up having a lesson and leaving if you have the time and want to learn.

Great to see adults taking group& very welcoming. Felt safe to leave children with them. Attended a pony day which the kids reported they didn't do much& didn't have much riding time. For the last 1 1/2hrs we were there& kids did nothing during that whole time. Other pony days elsewhere had kids mucking out, feeding, grooming, learning about equipment, doing activities such as quiz/picture drawing. This was lacking here.
