PAT Cornwall Limited has been testing in Cornwall since 2004. We have experience in testing a whole range of sites throughout the county from small ten appliance sites to universities with over ten thousand appliances. We specialise in minimal disruption testing, working around you and your staff to test in the safest most efficient way.
We fully understand that you too have a business to run and do our utmost to help you continue your working day. We test using calibrated industrial hardware, (Megger PAT 420 and PAT 4 DV3) to carry out onsite testing. The tester is then downloaded to produce detailed testing reports which can be delivered to you by either paper or electronic format.

There are many practical, moral, and legal reasons why you should have your portable appliances tested. Electricity can kill! Each year about 1000 accidents at work involving electric shock or burns are reported to the Health and Safety Executive. About 15 of these are fatal. Faulty electrical appliances and leads are the main cause of accidental fires in commercial buildings, representing over a quarter of all such fires.
Tester is a part of the Megger PAT400 series, a new generation of downloading portable appliance tester. It fully PAT tests portable electrical equipment to the latest edition of the Code of Practice for the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. The PAT420 provides the same extensive memory and downloading capability of the PAT410 with the added features of 110V operation.
High quality labels are used to suit most environments having an unique write and seal label format; this will ensure your label will last for many years in most conditions and environments. We use conventional sized plug top measuring approximately 40mm x 30mm for everyday use. Specialised cable wrap styled again with outstanding durability, which are discrete to the eye.
These are some examples that I have come across recently during a routine testing and inspections. Here I found a plug with a blown 13 Amp Fuse, instead of replacing the fuse someone had decided to wrap some wire around the blown fuse. I hate to think the reasoning behind this, but it was shown the the responsible person and I put in a new fuse and continued with the test.
