MWM is a small family firm owned and operated by craftsman Matthew Paszenda and his wife Sylwia, with other specialist tradesmen employed when we need them. We came to Scotland from Poland over eleven years ago. Settling in Glasgow, we immediately fell in love with the beautiful stonebuilt houses and tenements of the city's Victorian and Edwardian heyday.
Matthew applied his skills to working in the renovation industry, spending six years with a leading local firm as a joiner and sash window specialist before starting his own business. Now Sylwia takes care of the accounts, administration and marketing, while Matthew is still very much 'hands on' with each project.

These include full renovation and draught proofing of your existing sash and case windows, repair of specific problem areas such as windowsills or mastic pointing - or even completely new timber single or double glazed sash and case windows in keeping with the style of your home.
We're qualified and experienced joiners specialising in the renovation of traditional sash and case timber windows. We're based in Glasgow and most of our work comes from the elegant Victorian and Edwardian housing stock of that city - but we also work in the rest of Scotland, on buildings of any age, and in commercial and public property as well as residential houses and flats.
Beautifully crafted in every detail, double-glazed classic timber sash windows, were recently installed in Glasgow's West End family home. A wide range of skills was used on the existing timber windows which included a full sash and case restoration, draught proofing as well as remodelling and upgrading the homeowners' storm doors.
Matthew Paszenda has been working on the renovation of the sash and case wooden windows of our home. The property is over 100 years old and the sash windows were in a bad state of repair. Matthew is a very skilled restoration specialist and has achieved great results with the 15 windows he was asked to repair.

Matthew and his team (Gregor and Pieter) restored 11 sash windows, dating back to 1858. The works were conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner, and with minimum fuss or disruption. First-class tradesmen who arrive as agreed, tidy up after themselves and are meticulous in their work and attention to detail. Add in that our project included the various Covid lock-downs and you get an idea of how impressed we are! Our windows, storm doors and front door have a completely new and fresh look - they are re-born. Matt and his team have now refurbished sash and case windows in our property. They have done an excellent job, carried out by skilled workmanship. Matt is very pleasant to deal with. We had a very small issue with one of the windows and Matt arrived within 30 minutes of me contacting him to resolve it. We still have other windows that require his input and will not hesitate to use him again.

I was looking for my old, draughty, dilapidated sash and casement windows to be renovated. I was blown away by the result. The windows are like new.. the draught proofing beyond what I thought possible and the although still single glazed, the noise reduction is incredible. The team from Matt Window Mate were professional, efficient and courteous. I highly recommend this excellent company.
