Wunjo started in 2001 in a tiny little shop just around the corner from Denmark Street in Soho, London. We soon out-grew our first home, and moved to 20 Denmark Street in 2003, the same building where Elton John got his first job as a tea boy back in the sixties! Since then, we've even out-grown number 20, and we've opened two specialist shops for bass players and keys players/producers.
History is something we're well invested in here at Wunjo. We love old stuff, especially if it has strings and frets, or even a bit of old smokey tolex covering. We've been dealing in history for nearly twenty years. Brian, having been working for Andy's, makes a break for glory and founds Wunjo Guitars at 55 St Giles High Street.
One of the few guitars everyone at Wunjos thinks is truly cool, the Jazzmaster was originally designed with just that in mind _ jazz. An underground favourite to be sure, the indie-tastic Fender Duo Sonic has, like its brother the Mustang, seen a resurgence in recent years. Fender have a little dilemma when it comes to producing anything with the name Kurt Cobain attached: To batter, or not to batter.
When you think of this brand, you wouldn't immediately picture a guitar like the D'Angelico Premier Bedford. Introducing the Premier Brighton, a sleek double-cutaway and the newest addition to the D'Angelico solid-body lineup. Focused on exceptional comfort and remarkable tonal versatility, the Premier SS is a staple.
As you're already super into this let's not mess about - it's a vintage 1960s Airline H72 Rocket. Presented for sale is this Kay Semi Hollow Electric, in red burst complete with retro-tastic sound selector switching system. Rickenbacker 480 in Maple Glo, presented in fantastic condition, complete with original case.

I visited to try a guitar a found the attitude and egos of the kids working there to be terrible. A lady I was with even said one would think the guitars are not actually for sale.
The kid did the standard thing of taking the guitar off the wall and taking a minute to show off some licks while I wait before handing it to me out of tune. It's preamp battery was dead and they said they don't carry spares. I had a play anyway and mentioned the action was low and there was some buzzing. This kid takes the guitar, strums some chords and says "Sounds fine to me"...

Came in looking for a small bodied acoustic guitar. Had amazing help from one of the guys there who recommended an eastwood acoustic, really great guitar, unfortunately I couldn't afford to walk away with the guitar that day and was gutted... Bought 2 guitars from here - both times served by the same helpful guy (Marc I think). Can’t fault the service, friendly helpful advice, no pressure or rush and a fountain of knowledge. Everyone in the shop seems helpful and friendly and a there’s really good vibe in the shop - I’d say the friendliest most helpful, welcoming of all the shops on Denmark Street. I've been visiting this shop over the years when I'm in London, the staff are always very helpful and friendly. I finally bought a guitar from them, once it had been shipped to me in Ireland I noticed a intermittent fault with one of the pickups I hadn't noticed in the shop. This is really where these guys excelled, once I contacted them they were… amazing every step of the way of getting my guitar collected, assessed then repaired and finally returned to me. A big shout out to they guys at Wunjo Guitars for top rate customer service. I had a pedal that had developed a fault which they couldn't replace. Without any quibble they instead offered me a full refund. Put this towards a different pedal and they threw in some leads as well. THIS is why we need shops like this and less of the Internet based shopping. "I will be back" 😀😀

Probably the best customer service in London, which puts it in the running for best service in Europe. The staff was fun, generous and outstanding from the minute we walked in. I came in with my boy looking to get him a gift for his 16th birthday. It was his first time buying a guitar in a store, and the salesman made him feel relaxed and welcome. They were happy to let him try anything he wanted, and threw in a great case. The boy wanted to buy picks and they let him have a few for free. A great experience, my highest recommendation.

This is a decent enough shop, usually staffed by friendly people who don't seem too pushy and are happy to just let you try guitars. As for the stock, a lot of it is pretty tatty and for anything conceived as remotely hip/vintage/weird you're going to pay top dollar.
I've had a couple of experiences in there with stock that is of questionable origin being sold as something else. A Fender Custom Shop Nocaster that according to the guy working there apparently came 'stock' with GOLD knobs, when the rest of the hardware was chrome. I don't think so....

I'd been looking for an electro-acoustic guitar for my boyfriend for his birthday and had been into many guitar shops before walking into Wunjo's. Unlike my previous walk-in's I was greeted straight away by the owner and he made me feel very welcome in the store. As I am not a guitarist myself he sat me down and explained the types of electro-acoustics and showed me a few different ones he had in my price range. Among all the shops in Denmark Streets, Wunjo is my favorite.
First, I have always been amazed with the amount of rarities stored there. 70's CBS Stratocaster, original Gold Top, ES 175 old as my granny, you name it, they probably had it at some point. This shop is an Ali Baba's cave. The turnover of the stock is quite good. I make visits there every other month and there is always something new and exiting.

Denmark Street is great. It makes a musician feel at home...or at least all warm and fuzzy inside. Several of the shops on Denmark St are geared to a specific instrument or type of instrument. Wunjo's has a good mix of everything.
While I already have three basses, two guitars and various other gear at home, I came here looking for a very particular instrument. There is nothing particularly remarkable about the aesthetic of the shop. It is quite like the other guitar shops on the street, not that it's a bad thing.
