Hi, my name is Simon Pressley, based in Broadstairs, Kent, very close to the towns of Ramsgate and Margate. I have been teaching guitar and bass for many years now, helping hundreds of students to develop their skills as a musician. I offer guitar lessons for all abilities, from complete beginners to more practiced guitarists who wish to move up to the next level.

Services
An experienced professional musician and guitar tutor, with the insight to improve all levels from beginners to more advanced guitarists. For the past forty years I have gained extensive experience as a guitarist, performing in over 3,000 shows, with over half a million miles under my belt getting there!
Lessons are set for a 30, 60 or 120 minute session, usually on a one to one basis but can be shared if preferred. Rockschool provide an internationally recognised structure of graded examinations in guitar as well as other musical disciplines. I have extensive experience teaching the Rockschool guitar programme (Grades 1-8).
Simon is an exceptional guitar tutor with years of experience and skill behind him. He has no hesitation when it comes to delivering his knowledge or giving any tips and answers to specific questions and queries one may have. Simon can also adapt exceptionally well to a mass variety of guitar styles to suit the needs of the individual from classic rock to classical.

I've been taking lessons from Simon for nearly 6 months now and each time i'm improving and learning something new. I'd tried learning guitar online for a while and it just doesn't compare to being sat in a room with a tutor, the feedback given along with all the little tips and tricks are a massive help. Each lesson flies by and i find myself leaving with a head full of new things to try out before the next session, if you're serious about learning guitar Simon's your man!

I've been taking lessons with Simon for a few months now. While I'm not a beginner as such, I'd stalemated a bit in my own practice and lacked the discipline and structure necessary to keep making progress. Simon's lessons are well planned and thoughtful. He is patient and provides constructive feedback throughout. Since I've been taking lessons with Simon, I can play cleaner and faster, my knowledge of scales and theory has improved greatly - and most importantly to me, I always have a clear structure to my private practice in-between lessons that allows me to analyse where my strengths and weaknesses

Simon has given me the confidence to pick up my guitar again and feel able to play it once more. His patient, supportive and methodical approach to guitar lessons means I feel I am progressing week by week. The teaching is supplemented by well laid out lesson sheets, demonstrating chord structure in a logical and easy to read way. Simon offers a DVD of each lesson, which I find invaluable, as so much can be learned by replaying the previous session, both in hearing Simon's teaching and hearing how I play.

I came in with no experience a couple of years ago and was worried it would be too overwhelming to learn an instrument in my mid 20s. I was pleasantly surprised by my progression. Needless to say, Simon is a great tutor; he works with you to find out exactly what you want from your lessons and then tailors a plan to suit your needs. He's friendly, approachable and has great teaching ethics. Great prices for the services he offers (recordings of lessons are thrown in so you can re-watch them at home etc).
