Invisible Braces (Lingual Braces) are custom made fixed braces that attach to the back of the teeth making them invisible to other people. Lingual braces are a cosmetic alternative for those individuals who do not wish to have a visible brace. Incognito is a type of a lingual brace used by our specialist orthodontists at Perth Orthodontics.
Incognito offers an aesthetic solution for everyone. Cosmetic Braces are braces made from clear or tooth-coloured ceramic and are much less noticeable as they blend in with the natural colour of the teeth. Clear elastic ties and white metal ties are available to be used with clear cosmetic braces. Cosmetic Braces greatly reduce the visual impact of your braces.

Your brace is strong, but it will not withstand forces from eating hard, sticky and crunchy foods. All chewy sweets must be avoided. Hard foods like popcorn and peanuts must also be avoided. Cut your food up into smaller pieces and take more time over eating e.g. After your brace has been fitted, your teeth may feel tight and uncomfortable.
You must wear your brace full time even when eating and sleeping. It is likely to be uncomfortable for 3-5 days. You may need painkillers to alleviate the discomfort. If the brace is causing an ulcer you should phone for an appointment. You should continue to wear the brace so that the area causing the problem can be identified.
