We work with leading agricultural researchers, businesses, landowners, and farmers to develop the knowledge and technologies that will make modern farming more sustainable, resilient, and productive. Through practical and interactive workshops, farm walks, and on-farm demonstrations, we help farmers to put this knowledge into practice.

Central to Innovation for Agriculture's establishment and development is the charitable fundraising campaign. Support in the very earliest stages from individuals and from the Elizabeth Creak Foundation and the Garfield Weston Foundation laid a platform on which the initiative has been built.
The current technical centres have started with support from these and other donors, including the Linbury Trust (supporting work on soils) and the Esme Fairbairn Foundation (antibiotic resistance). The aim is that each technical centre should, over a period, become self-sustaining and able to make a contribution to Innovation for Agriculture's core costs.

Working with leading growers, industry experts, and top level research centres to gather information on innovations and techniques to improve soil health and water management. The intensification of agriculture over the past 60 years has severely degraded the UK's soils.
According to a recent government report, some of the most productive agricultural land in the country is at risk of becoming unprofitable within a generation as a result of soil erosion and loss of organic carbon.Poor soil health moreover increases the risk of flooding and threatens to undermine the UK's efforts to mitigate climate change.
