Help for Psychology is a team of highly experienced clinicians specialising in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The core function of the organisation is to offer assessment, diagnosis and support to children, adults and their families with Autism and co-morbid conditions, such as ADHD. We think it's really important that clinicians have a mixture of clinical skill and human qualities that mean you can place your trust in them.
We interview every potential partner in person before we agree to work with them, as well as carrying out rigorous background checks. I cannot recommend the team enough. Professional, caring, understanding and very supportive and all carried out in a really nice atmosphere. The assessment was extremely thorough and we had the diagnosis very quickly.

Services
Help for Psychology is a team of highly experienced and very approachable clinicians specialising in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The core function of the organisation is to offer thorough assessments and support to adults and children with suspected ASD and co-morbid conditions, such as ADHD.
Our team of highly experienced clinicians, from different backgrounds, offer a wide range of services from one-to-one consultations (face-to-face, over the phone, or via Skype) to discuss your specific needs, right through to multi-disciplinary assessments, which are carried out in line with NICE Guidelines.
It is estimated that at least 1% of the adult population has Autism. Historically it has been very difficult for adults to access appropriate services or obtain a formal diagnosis of their difficulties. In line with the recommendations in the Autism Act 2009, we have developed an assessment and diagnosis service for adults.
The majority of autistic children, and particularly those with a demand avoidant profile (PDA), can suffer from high levels of anxiety. This may lead to times where the child, or young person, becomes so distressed that their behaviour can appear out of control, or they appear to be having what looks like a panic attack.
Help for Psychology offers an independent assessment and diagnosis service for adults who are suspected of having an Autism Spectrum Disorder, including Aspergers and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). We offer two different assessments for adults. The first is a diagnostic opinion, which is aimed at adults who merely wish to understand themselves better.

"Room for improvement!"
Yes, I recommend for carrying out assessments, BUT.... follow up left rather a lot to be desired! Despite the website reassuringly stating, "the core function of the organisation is to offer assessment, diagnosis and support", we were told that "unfortunately, at the present time, we are unable to offer [ongoing therapeutic… support]". I appreciate that during covid things were difficult, but therapy sessions were allowed to continue, albeit largely online. We had paid almost £2000 for our assessment, which one would have expected warranted a degree of commitment

Our very comprehensive report from Help4pyschology has enabled us to be successful in obtaining a parental requested EHCP from our LA which hopefully will allow my granddaughter to get the support she needs to get back into education. I would recommend anyone thinking about going for a private diagnosis to choose Help4pyschology.

The team were incredible. They honestly were the first people who actually fully understood our daughter. They saw exactly how she works and what she struggles with. The only negative is that I can’t have them with us everyday educating people from family members to professionals. I could not recommend enough.
