The EU Settlement Scheme has been in operation in one form or another since 2018 and has seen millions of successful applications. The Scheme will issue applicants either with "Settled Status" (Indefinite Leave to Remain) or "Pre-Settled Status". As long as you apply online by then, you will pay the old fee.

These are services provided by local authorities to assist applicants for citizenship mainly by witnessing copies of passports. We assume that the reason behind this move is to facilitate applications being made through the new UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services Centres (UKVCAS) and the new "commercial partner" - Sopra Steria.
Services
Commonwealth Immigration Consultants was established in 2000 and were one of the very first advisers to be registered by the UK regulatory body, the OISC (Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner). Our OISC registration number is F200100020 and our services are registered at Level 1.

The OISC has a statutory duty on behalf of the UK government to ensure that all immigration advisers are fit and competent, and observe fair and sound principles. Most of our clients come from personal recommendations and we take pride in providing a personal one to one service. Before retaining our services, we will assess your background and suitability to see if your application can be successful.
To provide an initial free assessment service ensuring that we only offer our services to those whom we feel have the capacity to succeed. To deliver a high quality, professional service to our clients to ensure a successful conclusion to their applications. To preserve the confidentiality of our clients and not to disclose any information to third parties without direction from our clients.
We have many years experience in assisting migrants to obtain UK visas as Spouses, Civil Partners, Unmarried Partners, Fianc(e)s. Such applicants will be sponsored by a UK citizen or person settled in the UK (i.e. who has indefinite leave to remain - ILR) or returning to settle in the UK. Different rules apply to EEA applicants sponsoring a family member - see our EEA section for more information.
We have many years experience in assisting migrants to obtain UK Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) visas, also known as settlement or permanent residence. The normal qualifying period to obtain ILR is 5 years. However, not every visa category is counted as "qualifying" for ILR. For instance, time spent in the UK on a Tier 5 Youth Mobility visa or a student visa does not count towards the 5 years period.
We have many years experience in assisting migrants to obtain UK Citizenship, also known as Naturalisation. There are several different routes to obtaining citizenship, however the normal route is through residence in the UK. In most cases, applicants should already have obtained UK permanent residence or indefinite leave to remain (ILR).

Brilliant. 100% trustworthy and brilliantly knowledgeable. Dealt with my husband's spouse visa from initial entry to Indefinite Leave to Remain. Can't recommend highly enough. Very fair and reasonable cost too. Worth every single penny for the peace of mind using them brings you. Made the whole process so much less stressful. Thank you so much.

Tim McMahon of Commonwealth Immigration is by far the best consultant I have ever used since moving to the UK. In a country with overly complicated red tape and paperwork, Tim made the process straight forward and was always on hand to answer questions. I strongly recommend him for anybody looking to take the stress out of immigration applications.

Tim was a very helpful and diligent source of legal support in my Citizenship application. He was always quick to respond to my questions over email, and also to schedule phone calls when needed. Having used 'high street' lawyers in the past, I can say confidently that Tim didn't nickel and dime me for every minute of time spent. He has an upfront 'no result, no fee' structure with no hidden costs that you're billed at the end. Overall, a worthwhile experience that I would recommend highly to others.

I have been a client of CIC for over 3 years and Tim Mcmahon did represent me successfully on several UK residence cases. Him and his team were very punctuate and understanding of my situation from day one. He initially gave me a free advice and consultation so I can know my bearings, then he guided me through the steps in a very professionally manner. As a Canadian applicant, I do highly recommend him.

I would give 6 stars if I could.
We have used Tim McMahon's experience multiple times during these 6 years for advice to apply for different, and rather difficult, documents. We are now settled and with no worries anymore thanks to him. He helped my husband come from India to the UK in the first place, then he secured his 5-year resident card and when that visa expired we both hired him to get the UK Settled Status, an easy task for me being European, but not that easy for my husband being Indian!
His service is probably the best money I have ever paid for a professional, not even that expensive

Tim has been absolutely fantastic for my family and I. He has assisted us from renewing an ancestry visa, through to getting our ILR. All 3 of us have no hesitation in referring his services to anyone who needs help with their immigration applications.

I requested support from Tim, one year ago, with my permanent residence. Tim was excellent, reliable and very knowledgeable. The process was very complicated, however I managed to get it. After one year, Tim helped me again with my citizenship. I do trust Tim and his professionalism and I do recommend him.

Based on my experience narrated below, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TIM NOR HIS SERVICES! Tim offered a "No Visa No Fee guarantee" that he did NOT PERFORM as advertised! There is a word for such behavior, and it is NOT decent! I would therefore strongly urge anyone considering consulting with Tim to reconsider...
Some years ago, I consulted with Tim McMahon for the purpose of obtaining an immigrant visa to Canada. He claimed that, based on his assessment of my qualifications at the time, he was of the opinion that I would be successful, should I apply for said visa. He also offered a " No Visa No Fee
