Services
Taking your problems to a Psychotherapist could be of value if you are feeling helpless, anxious, fearful and confused or simply wanting to know more about yourself. Over the course of weekly sessions the psychotherapist will gently encourage you to talk about yourself. This can be the first step towards confronting your problems and giving meaning and coherence to your present state of mind.
Psychotherapists differ over how much consideration ought to be given to the cultural beliefs and social background of their clients within the therapy. In intercultural psychotherapy however these are accepted as valid and essential aspects of a client's identity and worthy of being understood and respected by the Psychotherapist during the therapy.
My consulting room is located in the centre of Cambridge, minutes from the main Drummer Street bus stop, close to the Colleges, the Town Hall and the Grafton centre. I aim to provide a space in which you feel safe and comfortable to talk about your problems in complete confidentiality. The first appointment is a longer one to allow you to learn more about the process and for me to assess your suitability to it.
The psychotherapist will expect you to tell her about the reasons you are seeking psychotherapy especially during the first assessment appointment. She may also invite you to tell her as much as you think she needs to know about who you are and what your present life circumstances are. The ethics of good psychotherapy practice require that whatever the client chooses to disclose during the sessions remains private.
