Services
We are an independent, family run business of memorial stonemasons, with a reputation for creating the finest quality hand-crafted memorials and stone work. From churchyard headstones and cemetery restorations to war memorials, we pride ourselves on our highly personal and professional service and our consistant high quality workmanship.
There are many options available for a Cemetery Memorial, although each Cemetery will have its own rules and regulations. Alternatively contact a member of our staff on 01206 761167 who will guide you through the options available. A. Clarke Memorials showroom is in Colchester, Essex and provides cemetery memorial headstones, kerbsets, vases and restoration services to the public, charities and private estates.
Even though there are strict guidelines to be followed when installing a headstone in a churchyard, there are still plenty of options available to create a bespoke memorial and our staff are fully briefed on what is and isn't permitted. In churchyards, a headstone can usually be erected on a grave six months after the burial has taken place, as the ground requires time to settle.
The loss of a child is a pain so deep that it cannot be expressed in words, and we understand that everyone experiences it in their own way. Talking to other parents who have lost a child is helpful for many grieving parents. The loss of a child is life changing. Early in your grief journey you may feel disorientated because your sense of how your life would have turned out has been destroyed.
NEW WAR MEMORIALS - We have had the honour of producing many bespoke war memorials, that we are very proud of. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss any ideas you may have, or if you like we will come to you and meet your committee members and work on a one to one basis with you. This way we can then get as much into the memorial as possible.

Positive:Ā Professionalism
A Clarke Memorials treated us with sympathy and were totally professional throughout the whole process when we lost our much loved family pet Labrador. We gave them a personalised design for a memorial stone for our boy and they did everything possible to create a truly wonderful result. I can highly recommend them. š¾š

My mother and I were given great service and advice. We were walked through the process with much patience and all of our questions were answered in detail. We walked in pretty much blind on all the details surrounding a headstone and kerbset, but when we left we were much more knowledgeable about the process...thank you for your help!
