The success of the vaccination programme in the UK and the easing of restrictions in the last 2 months mean that we now feel it is once again safe to welcome foreign visitors. English in York is an English language school with many years of experience, situated in the north-east of England. The school is located in the centre of the beautiful and historic city of York. We offer a wide range of English language courses, including General English, exam preparation e.g. IELTS, Business English, English for Specific Purposes and One-to-One Tuition.
How can I get a visa? When we have booked your course, we will then send out a booking confirmation and request a deposit payment of 500. When we have received the deposit payment, we will then issue visa support documentation which you can take with you to your visa appointment. What day can I arrive at my Homestay?
We offer a wide variety of English courses in England for students of all levels. You can choose to study in a group or on a one-to-one basis, with your individual needs focused upon at all times. Our teachers aim to make learning as interesting and enjoyable as possible to help you get the most out of your stay with us at our English language school in York.
By following a General English group course, you improve your fluency and become a more confident speaker. There are opportunities to practise and improve your speaking skills with other language learners. You also develop your language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and extend your knowledge of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.
When you choose the General English Intensive option, you will benefit from opportunities to practise speaking in a group as well as in individual sessions with your teacher. The one-to-one sessions with your teacher allow you to focus specifically on your own learning objectives and topics of preference.
