Flach & Le-Roy Ltd is an industry leader in designing and delivering high performance drying, ventilation & storage systems for crops & woodchip. Formed in 1993 its high quality product and design services include drive-on drying floors, air ducts, walling, fans, burners and associated control equipment delivered throughout the UK and overseas.
From design through to final commissioning and ongoing support, FLR provides a comprehensive service to create reliable, robust and continuously high-performing drying facilities for grain, potatoes, onions, bulbs and woodchip. We are experts in air-flow and crop-ventilation management, providing problem evaluation on underperforming systems, as well as consultation on new-build specifications, including costing prior to funding applications.
Taking advantage of the UK Government's Renewable Heat Initiative (RHI) many customers have installed biomass-heating systems and use woodchip as the boiler fuel. Woodchip is, of course, a sustainable fuel and can be purchased ready dried from commercial woodchip suppliers. Alternatively, other biomass users are either self-reliant on timber from their own forest resources or have a ready supply of virgin chip from local timber yards.
Whether the building structure is suitable for the side loads transmitted by the stored crop or whether you need internal thrust walls. If you are currently using the building as a store, where you will store the equipment when you have completed the conversion. Whether you have a choice of locating the main air duct centrally or down one side of the building.
