We are a group of motorsport enthusiasts who compete on, organise, marshal and generally enjoy all kinds of motorsport ranging from the World Rally Championship to club Autotests/AutoSolos, from Car Trials to Classic Car runs. Since entries opened a few weeks ago now 20 have entered, with very few registering to Marshal.
If there is not a substantial increase in support for this event it will be cancelled. Even the small events like an Autosolo take hours of volunteers time to pull together and when there is little support it really knocks the enthusiasm of the team. We have noticed a drop off in numbers on recent events, if there is a reason behind this it would be great to know why?

We organise our own events such as the Trial, AutoSolo and Classic Car Run. This gives an excellent opportunity to 'dip your toe in the water' of competing in or helping to run a motor sport event. National Circuit Rally - Cambridge Car Club provides members who undertake key roles in jointly organised AMSC promoted round of the National Circuit Rally Championship at Snetterton circuit.
If you've ever been driving at the weekend and noticed a series of classic cars going past in what is clearly an organised event, then you have seen a Classic Car Run or Touring Assembly.
It is not a competition but it is an opportunity for classic car owners to get together and take their pride and joy for a pleasant run through the countryside, while for the rest of us we can admire a collection of some of the finer examples of motoring history. There are no particular rules for what cars are eligible and at Cambridge Car Club we like to make it as wide as possible.

The club meets every Wednesday evening from around 9pm at the Queen's Head in Newton (CB22 7PG). You will not have difficulty spotting us in the public bar of this fine old pub. We also run a Fantasy Formula 1 league where budding team managers can pick drivers, engines and chassis within a limited budget and see if they can guess who are going to be this year's star performers.
Once again the objective was to use your skill and (armchair) knowledge of Formula 1 to assemble your dream team. Regrettably this game is so life like that your funds are strictly limited and therefore your selection won't be your dream team, but the best that you can put together with the 35m you have to spend.
The trial has a format of a set of 5 tests marked out by canes on the hill with a mixture of bends and slopes to test the driver's ability to keep going within the course and without losing forward motion. This requires a variety of subtle techniques and some not subtle. Class A is especially designed to cater for ordinary road cars, essentially unmodified, which means you can enter using your 'shopping' car.
