Sunbury Nursing Homes was founded by Marion Blamey, the great grandmother of the current owners and directors. Weir House and Montford House, the properties either side of West Lodge, were subsequently purchased in the 1940s and run as nursing homes before eventually being amalgamated to form Sunbury Nursing Homes.
Throughout our history the home has always been owned and managed by the same family. When Marion died her grandsons, Edmund and Norman, ran the home together from 1959 until 1977 when Norman passed away. Edmund continued to run the home until his death in 1994, and from the 1960s, until her retirement in 2010, Edmund's wife Ellen was Matron.

Services
Our nursing care revolves around the individual's care plan, which starts to be formed from our initial assessment visit. Following admission, the care plan is then developed with the resident contributing as much information as they would like on their social history, interests, likes and dislikes and how they would like their care to be managed.
Sunbury Nursing Homes is divided into two main areas: The Main Building and Weir House, as well as some smaller buildings used for staff training, workshops and laundry all set within our beautiful Gardens. The Main Building is used for resident accommodation and Weir House is used for activities, training and other administrative purposes.
The Main Building sits within its very attractive front and rear garden and comprises West Lodge (a Grade 2 Listed Building) built in the 18th century, linked to buildings purpose built in the 1960s. The Main Building is divided into 5 wings with between 11 and 16 residents accommodated in each wing.
We are very fortunate to have beautiful garden areas at the front and back of the Main Building and outside Weir House creating a wonderful sense of space around the home. In the flowerbeds around the back of the Main Building we have just had a variety of herbs, plants and miniature fruit trees planted and we can't wait to see them grown up and in full bloom and taste the produce!
We hope you will find what you need within the website and that it has been easy to find. If there is something you think we have missed, please let us know and well be happy to add it, if we can. Please come and have a look around the home in person and see the Sunbury Nursing Homes Family in action.

Our experiences of respite care for my mum had been horrendous, and the last place we had felt confident and trust let us down so badly. When my mum came to Sunbury Nursing Home our faith was restored as she couldn't have received better care. The staff were dedicated, committed and professional and supported us all so kindly to the end.
That was in 2010 and since then we have recommended SNH to others, who have all been very happy.
I'm on the website now to find the telephone number as I'm hoping to move my aunt here from hospital soon, and really wanted to give a belated review and say how
