Tree Felling is the removal of a tree in one section and can only be carried out where space and safety allows. It is a process that requires great skill and technical ability. In the event that felling is not possible then the removal of a tree will be carried out by dismantling it in a number of sections and this can include the use of specialist rigging equipment if required.
Dead wooding is carried out to remove dead, dangerous, diseased and failing branches from within the crown. Cable Bracing is often used to ensure safety and prolong the life of a tree, particularly one of importance. This method is used on trees with large and heavy limbs, with the cable brace providing support to these limbs to reduce the risk of failure and reduce movement.
Stump Grinding is the process of removing a tree stump by using a specialist machine that grinds the stump into small chippings, these chippings will then be used to back fill the hole. Where possible we would recommend leaving a tree stump as it can form a great habitat for wildlife. However, if you are looking to re-plant, clear or turf the area then you will need to have the stump removed.
Tree Preservations Orders (TPO) are issued by local planning authorities to protect individual trees. The order makes it an offence to cut down, uproot, prune, lop or damage the tree in question without first obtaining the Council's consent. Conservation areas are areas of land which have been awarded a protected status to ensure their features and heritage are preserved.
Seasoned logs are available to purchase all year round for use in wood burners and open fires. These are split to order and will be roughly 8-12 inches, if you require a specific size this can also be arranged. For best results we would recommend storing timber for approximately 6 - 12 months to further season before use.
