It's easy to see why many people consider new wood floors to be an investment. So it would make sense to look after that investment as much as possible. That all starts with correct installation. There is nothing worse than spending a lot of money on a beautiful new floor, then having it badly installed.
The beauty of our recommended engineered wood is that it is made up of multiple layers of ply, with a layer of oak on top. These plywood layers form the structural base of the board and make engineered wood much more stable than solid. As a result, engineered flooring is less prone to the movement caused by changes in temperature or exposure to water and does not need to acclimatise like solid boards.

Southern Cross fitted our wooden flooring 12 years ago and have just been back to fully refurbish. Both original floorboards and engineered oak.
They have done an excellent job with great attention to detail.
The team of guys here were a pleasure to have working in our home, they were courteous, on time and nothing was too much trouble.
I would highly recommend them both for the work and the way they conduct the business. A pleasure from start to finish

Well what can I say, superb. We were nervous about spending the money on restoring the original pine flooring in our Victorian house but we shouldn't have been. It looks great and the team that came I can't praise highly enough.They were professional, accommodating, friendly and really cracked on with it. That being said they checked with us on final touches and were great at advising as well. They even replaced the trim on the door which we hadn't even flagged as an issue. Can't recommend enough!

Southern Cross Flooring sanded and oiled our existing engineered wood floor and did a fantastic job. They were professional throughout the entire process and the quality of the work is superb.
They were flexible in their scheduling and extremely helpful in helping me understand all of the options and finishes available, even advising me to take an approach that was less expensive than I originally thought was necessary.
I have no hesitation in recommending them and would definitely use them again. They transformed our floor from being scratched and scuffed to looking like new.

The existing floor that Southern Cross came to work on was like a wonky patchwork quilt, which was quite unsafe given that it was in the middle of an about-to-reopen pub. But their knowledge of how to carefully restore and repair our original pine parquet turned the floor into a stunning centrepiece.
The staff were friendly, dedicated and hard working and they perfectly captured the look we were aiming to achieve.
