Services
Sam is a fully qualified audiologist, registered with the Health & Care Professions Council. He studied at the Mary Hare School for the Deaf and has spent his entire career dedicated to providing hearing care to the local community. Sam is a BSHAA certified clinical ear care specialist. When Sam is not working at The Studio you can normally find him out on the golf course.
Most providers of Hearing Aids are operated by national chains that are owned by hearing aid manufacturers so have an interest in maximising their brand's sales. Independent companies such as the Alresford Hearing Studio are able to provide choice across the whole of the hearing care market to deliver the optimum solution for each customer regardless of the provider.

Our hearing is subject to a natural ageing process which can be accelerated by the environment you are subject to on a daily basis and potentially the work that you do. Needing the television or radio volume significantly above the comfort level of your family or friends. Communication challenges such as frustration over the clarity of conversation or other people's speech especially where there is significant background noise.
The Alresford Hearing studio offer ear wax removal. All ear wax removal is carried out by highly qualified and experienced audiologists trained in clinical ear care, this may include microsuction, irrigation and instrumentation. Micro-suction is universally recognised as the safest and most effective way of comfortably removing ear wax.

I developed an ear infection which resulted in hearing loss made worse by an accumulation of ear wax. One of my concerns was that the infection was linked to a possible eardrum perforation.
So where to go for help? A two week waiting list to get a GP appointment and then a possible extended wait for a consultant appointment? A visit to a high street optician claiming to having competence in dealing with hearing problems bearing in mind that the last time I had an eye test I had two radically different prescriptions on the same day from Boots and Specsavers?
Fortunately I found Alresford Hearing

On arrival a bright and breezy welcome and a plentiful supply of hand sanitizer. Attention to detail…when a regular popped her head in the door, Jodie quickly asked her to put her mask on and ensured social distancing, (I do dislike that phrase).
Sam was welcoming and pre-cleaned the equipment in the treatment room. Sam explained and assured me about what was going to happen and that I could squeal at any stage if I felt the need.
The treatment was gentle and effective immediately as well as a great relief.

First visit to Studio for microsuction (having been to Specsavers, Just Ears and others in London). Lovely studio, Sam is very professional, has a calm, easy and friendly manner. Gave good advice and service. Particularly impressed with the TV screen linked to the microscope - first time I had ever seen inside my ears even though it wasn't pretty sight. My choice of practice from now on. Absolutely ideal for my needs. Thanks Sam - see you next time.

I visited the Hearing Centre unable to correctly install and operate the “Thrive” app on my new mobile phone and was able assisted by Jan, a new member of the team. I was extremely impressed with her kindness, patience and expertise and not only left with a fully functioning app but a cleaned and serviced set of hearing aids. Well done Jan an excellent example of the outstanding customer service provided by the Hearing Centre.

If I could rate Sam and his team 6 Stars I would!
Alresford Hearing Studio first saw me as it seemed I had water trapped in my middle ear from swimming with my children. Sam looked at my ear and told me there was infection in the ear and advised to continue my ear drop treatment.
Once the treatment was over and infection gone, I revisited the studio to discover that I had a perforated ear drum. Sam was very concise and professional in his advise and very kindly wrote me a report (including photos of my ear) to get me referred to a consultant which I received the next day.

Excellent service. First time. Referred by a friend. Everyone was very courteous and friendly. They were running a few minutes late so I was offered a coffee and a mint club biscuit!
Everything was explained very well and not rushed, and a camera was used to see inside my ear before and after, which was all very interesting and reassuring.
Removing the wax went very quickly, but because I had some deep down it hurt a little to remove it, but nothing like when I went to the doctors.
Would I go again when I have to? Absolutely..
