Services
After years working for big chain pharmacies and pharmaceutical governing bodies, Superintendent Pharmacist Harsha Vara decided to take her wealth of experience and help the local Putney community directly by opening up her own chemist. And so in 2011 Putney Pharmacy was born! In recognition of what we do, in 2014 we were awarded 'Community Pharmacy of the Year' in national awards!
You can order your repeats from us online, via telephone, email or simply by handing us your repeat form at Putney Pharmacy. If you've got a private prescription issued by your doctor, you can have it filled out quickly and efficiently at Putney Pharmacy. We have been established here for many years and have excellent relationships and lines of communication with the local doctors surgeries.
In the future all of your prescriptions will be sent to your pharmacy electronically. The NHS has already started to roll out this scheme, called the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). With this free service, it'll be much simpler and more convenient for you to get your medicine. With your GP being able to send us prescriptions electronically, you will no longer have to go to the surgery and queue to collect your prescription.
This is a new NHS service for people, including children, who don't pay prescription charges. If our Pharmacist thinks you need certain medication then they can give you a medicine on the NHS without you having to pay for it. It also saves you taking the time seeing your GP just to get a prescription.
Surgeons Dr. Vara and Dr. Fernando focus on Hair transplants, Botox, Facelifts, and a number of other procedures. Please explore their website for more information and to book an appointment. Dr. Anil Alexander is a fully qualified Ayurvedic doctor who has his practice based at Putney Pharmacy. He offers a full suite of ayurvedic Treatments, from herbal medicines to rehabilitation massage.

Didn't like that we were given a medicine from 2 different manufacturers for the same treatment, 3 pills from one, 20something from the other, why mix? Also patient informatory leaflets in our packet were either from same medicine but from different manufacturer, or a different medicine pack (new treatment) didn't have a leaflet with instructions in it at all!

Myself and a family member visited this pharmacy for a COVID-19 PCR self swab test; we experienced extreme unprofessionalism and disrespect.
Firstly, the pharmacist verbally issued the incorrect instructions for the self swab test and didn’t provide the written guide required- resulting in a faulty test.
In front of several other patients, the pharmacy manager boldly blamed my family member and insisted they must pay for another test.
Eventually a new test was administered but upon issuance, my family member, who’s middle aged, was infantilised and belittled- again with staff and patients

We've had nothing but excellent care and help from Putney Pharmacy. Both myself and my daughter are 'regulars' (sadly) and the staff couldn't be more helpful and knowledgeable. Great to have a such a professional team to turn to for advice and help - especially as it take so long to get a GP appointment these days!

After deep consideration I have decided to open up about one situation that I have witnessed in the Putney Pharmacy. Not that while ago while waiting to be served I have heard when the pharmacists was talking to other member of the staff that she has given the wrong vaccine to the patient. I have to say it as this is serious mistake. I couldn't believe how is that even possible to do. And to be clear the pharmacist was a young woman with very long dark hair. I have heard it clearly, so there was no misunderstanding or whatsoever. I think that this pharmacy used to be good in the past, but now their

So unprofessional staff, even pharmacists. So many dispensing errors, people receiving wrong medications so many times in there. Pharmacists are not checking properly, handing the wrong bags to the patients. Better always check your medicines before you leave pharmacy as it is a high possibility you have the wrong one. Organisation there is just so bad, that you will have to call thousand times before something will get done for you. Also 90% of the staff working there has no education and experience in the field. And they go and advice on your health, or dispense your medicines. If you want to
