Services
Deedsafe Wills & Legal Services was set up in 2000 by Peter Savage, an ex-Financial Adviser who became increasing concerned by the number of his clients who did not have any Wills in place. To address this, he became qualified to take Will instructions and very quickly became passionate about the Estate Planning industry.
It is a sad fact that in the UK today anyone can call themselves a Willwriter. Prospective Willwriters do not need any qualifications whatsoever. There are no checks on a Willwriter's level of knowledge, experience, competence or even past criminal convictions. All our Estate Planning Consultants are members of the Institute of Professional Willwriters (IPW).
A Will is a legal document in which you state what should happen to your assets (money, property, investments and possessions) and most importantly any young children after you have passed away. A Will is one of the most important legal documents you will ever sign! Name Guardians, these are the people you trust to look after any of your children who are under 18 years of age.
If you divorce or your marriage is annulled your will is NOT invalid. Any gifts to or appointments of your former spouse made within your Will are however invalid. Your Will acts as though your former spouse died on the date your decree became absolute. This usually means the gift falls back into your estate for the benefit of the next tier of beneficiaries who would inherit if your former spouse had died before you.
It could be argued that a Lasting Power of Attorney is even more important than a Will, simply because of the harrowing consequences for your family if an LPA is needed but is not in place. There may come a time in your life when you are unable to manage your financial affairs or personal welfare, owing to some form of incapacity.

I fully recommend Peter Savage as a professional will-writer. He has provided a very good service to many TaxAssist Accountants' clients in Shrewsbury.
