Ripon Natural Health Centre
Osteopaths use their hands to investigate the underlying causes of pain and to carry out treatment using manipulative and soft-tissue techniques. Acupuncture, a system of healing practised in the Far East for over two thousand years, treats pain and illness as signs that the body is out of balance.

Homeopathy, in use for over 200 years, is a holistic therapy which aims to stimulate the body's capacity to heal itself using the principle 'like cures like'. Ripon Natural Health Centre is happy to be able to provide Aromatherapy, Sports and Remedial Massage and Deep Memory Process Therapy.
Services
Through providing professional complementary therapies we aim to encourage and promote holistic and informed approaches to health and healing. We stock a small range of products in reception, all tried and tested by us: massage oils made to our own recipes using pure essential oils, homeopathic creams, Biosun traditional ear candles, Bancha Green Tea, White Tea and our own range of Chakra Herb Teas.
Osteopathy is a holistic manual therapy which aims to encourage your body's natural capacity to heal itself through identifying and treating areas of strain, weakness, restriction and abnormal movement. Osteopathy has statutory recognition. Your osteopath has undergone an extensive training and is registered with and regulated by the General Council of Osteopaths.
The founder of osteopathy, Andrew Taylor Still, suffered from regular bad headaches as a young boy of 10 years old. He discovered an ingenious way to cure them. He tied a rope swing between two trees eight to ten inches off the ground. He wrote, I lay stretched on my back, with my neck across the rope.
The earliest acupuncture devices were made of stone. These were not used to pierce the skin, but rather to press on acupuncture points. Historians presume that before metal needles were discovered, thorns, bamboo slivers and sharpened bone were used to stimulate acupuncture points. The oldest acupuncture needles found date to A.D. 600.
In 1831 Cholera swept through Europe. Homeopaths treating the disease achieved a mortality rate (number of people who died) of less than 4% compared to conventional medical treatments, where the mortality rate was 59%. In 1854 during the cholera outbreak in London, deaths at the London Homeopathic Hospital were a mere 16.4% compared with the 50% average for other hospitals.

Have been here recently with a problem with my neck. Mr Young knew what the problem was and worked on the area over 4 visits, and advised on excersises to do at home as the appoinments are expensive when continued over a long period.. My neck is feeling a lot better, and would use this service again. The consultation rooms are up a flight of stairs.

I have had regular massage for a number of years and it’s always difficult to find a good one when someone has moved etc. I found Libby and she is excellent, just what I needed! Highly recommend.

I went here in 2010 for 2 months of treatment on my knee joint. My knee problem is now been a thing of the past having been a pain for a number of years. I must admit I was skeptical but having endured the problem for such a long time my faith in the NHS had worn thin. So pleased I did, thanks for the help and thanks for providing "actual preventative advice" too, you'll be pleased to know I switched doctors eventually.
